    West Hollywood Sheriff’s Report Vehicle Burglaries, Thefts and a Failed Drug Deal Last Week

    The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Crime Report shows 7 Vehicle Burglaries, 2 Strong Armed Robberies, 4 Grand Thefts and 1 Burglary for last week from Monday 12/4 to Friday, 12/10.

    One of the Strong Arm Robberies involved a drug deal gone awry when according to the incident report for Monday 12/4, “@2:05 am.  A man went to a secluded area to complete a drug sale and was shoved to the ground by two men.”

    Many of these incidents could have been prevented by exercising simple common sense.

    Be aware of your surroundings and attentive to personal items.

    Do not leave valuables visible from your vehicle windows or bags, backpacks, purses etc. unattended when shopping or dining.

    Oh, and don’t go to secluded areas to complete illicit drug deals.

    Monday, December 4th
    Strong Arm Robbery1400 block Harper Avenue
    12/04/2017 @ 2:05 am. A man went to a secluded area to complete a drug sale and was shoved to the ground by two men. The suspects took the victims backpack and fled the area in a vehicle. Loss $500. #06727

    Tuesday, December 5th
    Strong Arm Robbery
    Santa Monica Blvd / Formosa Avenue
    12/05/2017 @ 7:30 pm. A man was walking on Santa Monica Blvd when a man approached and tried to reach into his pockets. The victim walked away but was followed by the suspect and punched one time in the face. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect removed $100 cash from his pocket and fled the area.  Loss $100. #06776

    Vehicle Burglary
    1200 block Hayworth Avenue
    12/05/2017 @ 6 pm – 8:43 am. An unknown suspect ransacked the interior and removed a duffle bag, blanket, food, and two flashlights. No sign of forced entry. Loss $245. #06783

    8200 block Santa Monica Blvd

    12/06/2017 @ 3 am. An unknown suspect cut the lock to a storage room and removed a bicycle. Loss $680. #06781

    Vehicle Burglary
    8700 block W Sunset Blvd
    12/06/2017 @ 9:30 am – 5 pm. An unknown suspect smashed the rear driver’s side window and removed a computer bag from the back seat. Loss $380. #06800

    Thursday, December 7th

    7500 block Norton Avenue

    12/07/2017 @ 6 pm – 8 am. An unknown suspect removed both side mirrors from a vehicle that was parked in the driveway. Loss $1300. #06816

    Other Burglary (Attempt)
    600 block Huntley Drive
    12/07/2017 @ 10:45 am – 7:30 pm. An unknown suspect tampered with the garage door but did not open it. No loss. #06811

    Vehicle Burglary
    900 block Palm Avenue
    12/07/2017 @ 00:54 am – 1:10 am. An unknown suspect removed a duffle bag containing clothing, jewelry, shoes, and a handbag from the rear cargo compartment. No sign of forced entry. All items except the jewelry were found on the ground near the victim’s vehicle and recovered. Loss $5K (jewelry). #06807

    Wednesday, December 8th

    8400 block Sunset Blvd

    12/08/2017 @ 12:30 pm – 6 pm. An unknown suspect removed a laptop computer and IPad from the hotel room. No sign of forced entry. Loss $1800.

    8400 block Melrose Avenue
    12/08/2017 @ 8:30 pm – 9:30 pm. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a messenger bag containing a laptop computer from under the front seat and a lamp from the back seat. Loss $2K. #06825

    12/08/2017 @ 7:55 pm – 10:10 pm. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a computer bag, laptop computer, and passport from the trunk. Loss $2200. #06827

    12/08/2017 @ 7:20 pm – 9:20 pm. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a backpack containing a laptop computer, IPad, sunglasses, and jewelry from the front floorboard. Loss $4K. #06828

    12/08/2017 @ 8 pm – 10:30 pm. An unknown suspect smashed the rear passenger’s side window and removed a computer bag containing a laptop computer from the back seat. Loss $2K. #06829

    12/09/2017 @ 4 pm – 8 am. An unknown suspect removed a laptop computer, headphones, and sunglasses from a backpack that was left unattended in the store. Loss $3100. #06862

    Grand Theft
    9200 block Sunset Blvd
    12/09/2017 @ 1 am – 2 am. An unknown suspect removed a Chanel purse containing a cell phone and wallet that was left unattended on a table inside the club. Loss $7K. #06849
