West Hollywood Capitol Drugs Pharmacy Was Burglarized

Capitol Drugs pharmacy located at 8576 Santa Monica Boulevard was burglarized on Thursday morning at roughly 3:30 a.m., making this the first time the beloved West Hollywood pharmacy has been robbed in over 35 years that they’ve been in business.

According to owner Raja Sannidhi (known to the WeHo community simply as Raj), a white 4-door vehicle parked in front of the pharmacy and cased the place. It is not clear how long they were eyeing the store, but around 3:30 a.m. four suspects dressed in all black, appearing to be male, were outside the storefront. One suspect waited by the car, while three suspects approached the business. They pried open the front door with a crowbar and broke in. Surveillance footage shows the three suspects fumbled around inside the store until they found their way into the back pharmacy area.

“They ransacked the place and stole a bunch of pills,” Raj told WEHO TIMES. “They were in-and-out in three-and-half minutes.”

Surveillance footage shows burglary at Capitol Drugs pharmacy located at 8576 Santa Monica Blvd, on Thursday morning at roughly 3:30 a.m. This is the first time the beloved West Hollywood pharmacy has had a theft in over 35 years that they’ve been in business. He understands that pharmacies are a target, and this is all part of running a business. He revealed that the Capitol Drugs he owns in Van Nuys has been robbed 10 times, but he always thought of West Hollywood as a much safer place. “You have to take the good with the bad,” he said. “I would rather have this happen in the middle of the night, rather than when we were open.” #wehotimes #wehonews #wehocity #wehocrime #burglery #theft #lasd #crime

He says a manager showed up at roughly 3:50 a.m., but they were long gone. The West Hollywood Sheriffs were called to the scene. A report was filed with the Sheriff’s Station, but the suspects wore gloves and masks so there are not too many leads at the moment.

Raj said this is the second time the West Hollywood location has been broken into, but this is the first time they were robbed. The first incident was during the George Floyd riots where the front windows were smashed, however the recent incident is the first time there was a break-in with the intent to steal.

He revealed that the Capitol Drugs he owns in Van Nuys has been robbed 10 times, but he always thought of West Hollywood as a much safer place.

“It comes with running a business,” he said. “You have to take the good with the bad. I would rather have this happen in the middle of the night, rather than when we were open.”

Nothing to really be upset about, there was minimal damage likely to be covered by insurance and, no one was hurt. They were probably looking for medical supplies or medications for their family or friends that they are unable to afford.

Insurance premiums are already high. The drugs they stole may now be unavailable to patients with health issues. There are many programs available for people in need and Medi-Cal is an option for many as CA’s program is robust. Stop minimizing crimes. They stole and you have no insight into what their intentions were. Damaging property and stealing is wrong.

Insurance premiums are high because insurance companies have seen an opportunity to price gouge. Pharma produces more than enough to meet our needs and production capabilities are ever increasing, production is even held off to increase prices. Medi-Cal is great but we need Single Payer Universal Healthcare. Me minimizing crime❓ I’m always calling out crime committed by rich people & corporations and, condemning the atrocities of western imperialism. And YES stealing is wrong so Native Americans & Palestinians should get their land back Pilgrim❗

I doubt they were stealing aspirin and pepto-bismol.

I doubt that as well. It was likely medication their family or friends needed at the time.

Voting out John Erickson would go a long way toward restoring order and safety to our streets. The city has gone to hell since he took office and forced his blind wokeness on residents.

This city… Ha…It’s the entire state has gone to hell as people and businesses flee the state in record numbers. You get what you voted for here-brainwashed voters that have NO clue what’s going on. The overflow of crime affects all neighborhoods.

A bit of misinformation there with reality being quite different. Most people leaving California had a “grass being greener on the other side” perception and California is now seeing a sizable influx of new & returning residents relocating from Texas and other redneck places they ran off to. Many learned that crime is hardly nonexistent in conservative small town USA with gay bashing & hate crimes practically considered spectator sports.

Not really…. Californians looking to escape the high cost of living and polices are apparently moving in droves to Arizona more than anywhere else in the U. S> new data shows. That’s according to the U.S. Census Bureau, which estimates Phoenix has been a popular relocation destination not only for Californians but all Americans between 2017 and 2021.  The U-Haul Growth Index measures changes in state populations by correlating population decline to an increase in U-Haul’s transactions of moving equipment in one direction. Although this index  alone cannot capture the full extent of population changes, it reflects the fact that California has faced negative domestic migration. According to… Read more »

Do keep in mind that US Census data is very bias because many nonwhites fear answering the Census because think it might be used against them. More than 4 million Americans were NOT represented in the 2020 census. Keep in mind that this is a part of voter suppression and malapportionment that insures republican victories, for that matter republicans CAN’T win without voter suppression and gerrymandering

That a white sedan is outside Capitol Drugs on SANTA MONICA BLVD. at 3:00/3:30am and the thieves went in through the front door? Where the hell was the sheriff patrol? We need more street patrols. That is happened in a not secluded area is pathetic and the sheriff was caught with their pants down.

Um…. Have you actually been to this pharmacy. The car would have been legally parked on Santa Monica Blvd and white is among the most common vehicle colors. Observing vehicle occupation during a parking enforcement or Sheriff’s drive by wouldn’t have had sufficient information to rouse suspicion, and was definitely NOT illegal. They probably chose the time they did as it was just before the final batch of people rush to move their cars before the area turns into a no parking zone at 04:00. I also wouldn’t be surprised if this took place immediately after a Sheriff’s drive by.… Read more »
