WeHo Sheriffs Respond to Man Threatening Community with a Hammer

Minutes after West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies cleared a chaotic situation at a local Bank of America on Santa Monica Boulevard, where a man went on a violent rampage through local businesses before breaking a window and engaging in a standoff with WeHo deputies, another incident unfolded involving a man wielding a hammer. The man smashed the glass of a Metro bus shelter and then threatened other community members.

“We don’t know what’s happening tonight,” said one deputy. “There must be something in the water. I hope this is not the result of a bad batch of drugs, because that’s two incidents back-to-back where the individuals decided to smash things.”

Our once-proud city has been polluted by the unhoused predators prowling our streets looking for victims. And now we are inviting hundreds more into our city with the homeless hotel. We need real leadership at city hall before it’s too late.!
