WeHo Rewind to Lisa Vanderpump’s PUMP Restaurant’s Last Day in West Hollywood

WEHO TIMES broke a long list of West Hollywood stories in 2023. One of our biggest newsbreaks that made international headlines was the liquor license suspension of two highly profiled West Hollywood restaurants partly owned by Reality TV Star and animal rights activist Lisa Vanderpump. California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) reported that Pump Lounge Restaurant and Tom Tom Restaurant and Bar, both located in the heart of WeHo’s LGBT Rainbow District, forgot to pay their ABC liquor license fees, resulting in their temporary suspension of liquor services. It eventually forced PUMP to close during Oscar night, although they blamed it on the rain.

However, nothing prepared us for the announcement that Lisa Vanderpump’s crown jewel in West Hollywood, PUMP, was closing on July 2, after being on the corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Robertson Blvd for 10 years.

We popped in on the restaurant on its final day to witness the big farewell celebration. It was a joyous affair in the patio area with wait staff breaking into dance moves in the isles, bartenders flexing and doing shots with their customers, and we saw patrons enjoying a final meal under the olive trees.

We found these never before published photos of the last day at Pump Restaurant.

The inside bar was packed with people dancing at whatever open space they could find while a live DJ played dance music.

Lisa Vanderpump made an appearance with her husband and business partner, Ken Todd, later in the evening. Of course they had a film crew on hand to capture the farewell.

Then animal rights activists crashed the party later that night. Lisa was seen making a hasty getaway from PUMP to Tom Tom Restaurant.

Now the space awaits a new incarnation as the up-and-coming Roosterfish at 8948 Santa Monica Blvd, on the corner where PUMP Lounge stood for 10 years. Roosterfish may succeed at carving out its own space in WeHo history, but to fans that space will always be associated to Lisa Vanderpump’s Pump restaurant in the heart of WeHo.

Never went besides a peak inside for a minute. The food at Sur was below mediocre.

I WILL be patronizing Roosterfish though!

Another win for our great city
