City of West Hollywood Mayor John D’Amico, is inviting the community to take part in a Mother’s Day online drag show to honor all mothers across the city and around the world. Put your best face paint forward and show mom you love her on Sunday, May 10, Starting at 2pm.
It’s unclear how many mothers want to see their sons (or daughters) dress in drag to celebrate their special day, but community members are invited to participate and post a beautiful still photo of themselves in full drag on their social media platforms, or participating Mother’s Day queens can have a lipstick lip synch smack down to some popular tunes from the safety of their homes or outside of their homes if they wish for better lighting, as long as they follow all the Safer at Home orders and keeping themselves and their neighbors healthy, safe and coronavirus (COVID-19) free.

Here’s how the Mother’s Day Online Drag Show will works: Those who choose to participate can put on a show for themselves, for their friends online, or for their neighborhood while remaining in compliance with all social distancing requirements. The event is being organized by WeHo nightlife personality and LA Pride host, Billy Francesca. The Mother’s Day Online Drag Show will kick off atRocco’s West Hollywood with Rocco’s Rocc-ettes. The Rocc-ettes are a part of a Sunday Brunch & Drag show at Rocco’s WeHo.

While in-person gatherings for Mother’s Day may not be possible amid the Safer at Home orders, this virtual event encourages the community to bring joy and entertainment to each other and especially the mothers in our lives.
Performers are encouraged to post pictures and videos online with hashtags #MothersDayDrag and #fromWeHowithLove to share and tag with @wehocity, @westhollywood, and @wehochamber.
