West Hollywood business Grindr rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in honor of NYSE’s Pride Month on Wednesday, June 27, 2024. Grindr CEO George Arison was joined by the Grindr leadership team for the ceremony. The event comes amidst festivities and in celebration of the dating app’s very own 15th anniversary, nearly two years after Grindr’s public listing in November 2022. It follows their first Investor Day presentation, where the company shared its vision and strategy for Grindr’s continued growth, evolution, and impact.

West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Chair David Wood announced Grindr’s ringing of the opening bell at the recent West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce State of the City event this past Wednesday. “I couldn’t be more proud of the West Hollywood community and could never imagine that a company from West Hollywood would be ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange, so we’re all very proud of that.”

Over the past 15 years, Grindr has grown from a groundbreaking upstart into a global platform that connects millions of LGBTQ+ individuals worldwide for a multitude of use cases far beyond casual dating. According to a statement, this achievement is a testament to the power of their product and the trust and support of their users, who have made Grindr a ubiquitous part of their daily lives in more than 190 countries.

“As we celebrate this occasion and look to the future, we remain committed to our mission of being the Gayborhood in your pocket,” reads a press release. “Through our success, we strive to make a world where the lives of our global community are free, equal, and just.”

George was interviewed on CNBC as well. He is such a well spoken and smart guy. He talked both about the difficulty of running a business and serving a community that has been marginalized. Really insightful.

Oh yeah, the place in Weho it is so much fun to work HALF THE STAFF QUIT instead of returning to the office post covid. What a fun atmosphere in the Red Building it must be! :) https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/08/business/grindr-return-to-office-union/index.html

There is nothing wrong with a business asking their employees to return to an office environment. It is in their right. If the employees choose not to and leave, that is their right. The people who quit have been replaced.

I hear they have a bad atmosphere full of bitchy queens. Also, why did the founder of grindr never have a BF only a cat? :) And how do you know such much about their personnel hiring?
