Fruitloots is a LGBTQ+ owned and operated ecommerce gifting marketplace based in West Hollywood, offering a whimsical twist on modern gift giving. David is the founder of Finding Cupid and a former matchmaker from BravoTv and WeTv, and Allan has a background in corporate retail merchandising.
The idea for Fruitloots was born out of the pandemic when David & Allan wanted to send a box of fun goodies to their friends to celebrate Pride and were disappointed by the plethora of overseas-made trinkets available on Amazon. It became the company’s core mission to showcase vendors from LGBTQ+, POC, women and ally-owned brands by featuring these products in their gift assortment.
There is much to select from on the site, including curated boxes for any gifting occasion or you can choose your own adventure and curate your own gifting box. The “marketplace” section features novelty stand alone gifts like candles, games, and holiday treats (peppermint marshmallows and snow globes). Their own apparel brand, recently featured at ComplexCon, is is also available for purchase.
The PRIDE box is their most popular to date and you don’t have to wait until June to celebrate Pride as the boxes are available 365. A percentage of proceeds from PRIDE boxes goes toward Camp Lightbulb, a local non-profit that helps to send LGBTQ+ youth to a summer camp experience.
David and Allan pride themselves on what they call the “wink factor”, which is part of the “Humor” core value of the company. They never take themselves too seriously and believe gifting should always be fun with a wink and a nudge.
