We Know WeHo Features ChadMichael Morrisette of ‘Oh Mannequin and All Things Visual’

This episode of We Know WeHo comes with a nostalgia alert, as long time West Hollywood resident, ChadMichael Morrisette, and owner of “Oh Mannequin and All Things Visual”, talks about the head-turning window displays in West Hollywood storefronts that he created. Sadly, most of these no longer exist, and according to ChadMichael, there are really only two window boxes in West Hollywood that have the room for a proper art installation display.

He has done windows for Jenni Kayne, one of the two that remain…the other being Maxfield on Melrose Avenue. ChadMichael recalls the artistry of window displays of the past with a particularly “horrifying” Halloween display at LASC. Out of the Closet is one of his favorite window displays that changes frequently with eye catching fashion ensembles that certainly draws in the bargain shopper.

K Ryan Hennisey (aka WeHo Jesus) and owner of Art Lounge Collective, also popped into the co-host guest seat for this episode. Ryan was featured back in May of 2022, on the podcast to talk about an art grant he won from the City of West Hollywood to bring back WeHo Jesus as a tribute to the OG Jesus – Kevin Lee Light.  Ryan used ChadMichael’s mannequins to display the many variations of WeHo Jesus for a retrospective exhibit.

Tracy, ChadMichael and Ryan have a fun moment talking about the movie Mannequin and a recent Andrew McCarthy sighting. An OG “Emmy” from the movie is one of ChadMichael’s treasured mannequins in his collection of over 2,000 that is housed in a downtown warehouse—insider trivia tip: there were six different Emmy’s used in the filming of this movie.

Things wrap up with ChadMichael teasing about a historical mannequin show that is in the works that he dreams of featuring at the Pacific Design Center!
