WATCH! Madonna Invites Kylie Minogue to Sing Duet During Celebration Tour Concert in Los Angeles

The worlds of two pop icons collided at the Kia Forum Thursday night when Madonna invited special guest Kylie Minogue on stage to perform Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” followed by a snippet of Kylie’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” The performance took place during Madonna’s Celebration Tour on its third of five night in Los Angeles.

During the portion of the show where Madonna speaks to fans about her life, the Queen of Pop shared about the losing friends during the AIDS epidemic, which led to her efforts in Malawi where children are orphaned after losing their parents to AIDS and where she also adopted four of six her children. She also shared about losing her peers like Prince and Michael Jackson and having survival guilt.

In the two previous Los Angeles shows, Madonna strapped a guitar and sang her 1989 hit Express Yourself—however, Thursday night she had a special surprise for her fans.

“On the subject of survival,” she said. “I’d like to introduce a very special guest who’s going to come up here and sing with me. Her name is Kylie Minogue. Now this is what we call a survivor…”

Madonna told Kylie that it was a privilege to have her on stage singing with her. “You’re a fighter too. God Bless you. You never gave up.”

“I feel amazing” Kylie added. “This has been a long, long, long, long time coming.”

What happened next was a duet with both pop superstars.

The Celebration Tour takes us on Madonna’s artistic journey through four decades and pays respect to the city of New York where her career in music began. “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” Madonna stated.

The Celebration Tour will offer a one-of-a-kind experience with special guest Bob the Drag Queen a.k.a. Caldwell Tidicue across all dates on the global tour.
