    UPDATE – WeHo Manhunt Ends with Jeremiah Pike Captured in Woodland Hills

    Los Angeles Sheriffs Department Major Crimes Bureau and Special Enforcement Bureau, arrested inmate Jeremiah Pike who escaped custody on Friday, August 5, 2022 at approximately 6:10 a.m., while being escorted from West Hollywood Station jail to a LASD transportation bus.

    LASD reports that suspect Pike escaped from deputies and scaled a station fence line. “A perimeter was established in the surrounding area,” reads a statement. “With the assistance of Aero Bureau, K-9 and surrounding agencies, Major Crimes Bureau along with Special Enforcement Bureau apprehended Suspect Jeremiah Pike on the 6300 block of Glade Avenue in Woodland Hills at approximately 5:30 p.m. without incident.
    There is no additional information at this time.”

    Residents in the area woke up to loud helicopters hovering, and police sirens speeding through the neighborhood during the manhunt. There was police activity over the Pacific Design Center from San Vicente Boulevard to Huntley Drive between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard.

    According to reports, the inmate broke free and ran into a West Hollywood neighborhood, prompting a massive search. Deputies immediately set up a perimeter and began combing the neighborhood for the suspect. According to reports he’s a robbery suspect who was apprehended this past Wednesday .

    Pike was described as 6 feet, 4 inches tall and was wearing a black shirt, blue jeans. MSNBC reports that surveillance footage from a nearby gym on N. Robertson Boulevard showed Pike using the black shirt to cover his hands — which were still handcuffed — and a blue towel or rag to cover his head and face. He was also barefoot.

    According to a witness inside a business in the area, Pike asked to use the phone, where he called and asked an unknown party for a ride.
