The bi-annual Sample Saturday Health Fair, hosted by Capitol Drugs / Power Zone has been canceled due to the recent coronavirus threat. The health fair, which is co-hosted by The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Cedars Sinai and the City of West Hollywood was scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 21, from noon to 4pm pm in front of Capitol Drugs and neighboring businesses on Santa Monica Boulevard.
Capitol Drugs sent the following statement to participants of the health fair:
Due to the unprecedented revelations concerning the coronavirus, we here at Capitol Drugs / PowerZone, feel the risks are too high to possibly jeopardize your health and our staff’s health. We are therefore regrettably having to postpone our yearly March Sample Saturday event. We will be monitoring the situation week after week to determine if or when we can reschedule. We regret we have to do this but the safety of our community and staff takes precedent. We urge everyone to stay mindful and to adhere to all the safety measures we have been advised to take on. Wash your hands thoroughly throughout the day. Try to not touch your face areas. If you are sick, stay home. If you can work from home, please do so. If you suspect you’ve been exposed, please see about testing kits. Be responsible and proactive. Make sure you and your families are well stocked with food and water and other staples.Â

The Sherman Oaks location also hosts a Sample Saturday. That location the original Sample Saturday format. West Hollywood has expanded its horizons to include several different healthcare provider’s such as Cedar’s Sinai, APLA, Pacific Oaks, Men’s health, to name just a few. The Sample Saturday Health Fair is held twice a year in March and October.
