Two tourists were victims of an armed robbery in West Hollywood Wednesday morning, shortly after 2 a.m.. ABC7 reports that the incident transpired on Santa Monica Boulevard. Video footage shows the incident occurred in WeHo’s mid-city area around Holloway Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard, near Barney’s Beanery.
The victims were accosted by three individuals wearing ski masks. They demanded their watches. One of the watches stolen has been identified as a Rolex watch.
The robbery suspects made their getaway in a dark-colored sedan, with a fourth individual behind the wheel.
A friend of the victims, Morgan Rowan told keynewstv that she was outraged and frustration over the crimes in West Hollywood, stating, “My friends got robbed of their jewelry. They’re from out of town from another country. And I’m sick of this happening to our town and in our country…I’m not sure what it is, whether it’s at shopping malls or involving individuals in poorly lit parking lots. I’m weary of it. It seems these criminals persist in avoiding consequences because they believe they can act with impunity. This situation casts a negative light on our city and country due to insufficient laws.”

Fortunately, no one suffered any physical injuries during the incident.

West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station polices the City of West Hollywood and the unincorporated communities of Franklin Canyon, Universal City (which includes Universal Theme Park, Studios, and Citywalk), and the Federal Enclave in West Los Angeles.
Let’s spend thousands of dollars on lights above Santa Monica Boulevard instead of more police…..priorities are messed up
First off, it surprises me that a sheriffs deputy is allowed to wear a cowboy hat even that it’s being worn incorrectly. Did the WEHO council call in the Texas Rangers for assistance? Secondly, this young woman seems to have already been aware of the crime situation in WEHO so she should have warned her friends not to flash their wealth, especially at that early morning hour. One can only hope the Rolex was from Santee Alley instead of the real thing.
That’s why West Hollywood has Security Ambassadors. LOL
Unfortunately the security ambassadors couldn’t respond because their bicycles were stolen.
