Timothy Dean Identified as Second Man Found Dead in Ed Buck’s Apartment

The second man to die in the home of former Democratic donor Ed Buck, has been identified as 55-year-old Timothy Dean. He was employee at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills and also has a gay porn past under with adult movies spanning from 2007 to 2015.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s West Hollywood station were called to the scene at the Laurel Avenue apartment complex where Buck resides, on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 1:05 a.m. They were responding to a report that a person was not breathing. Neighbors stood by as another man was carried out of a body bag 18 months after same scene unfolded when 26-year-old Gemmel Moore, who was also found dead in Ed Buck’s home of a drug overdose.

Moore’s death was ruled accidental, which sparked outrage in the black community where many believe that, if roles had been switched, and Buck had been found dead in Moore’s apartment, Moore would have been arrested. Activists continue to condemn District Attorney Jackie Lacey for failing to file charges against Buck in Moore’s death.

“Seeing the news trucks on my street is heartbreaking,” Charlie Sanders posted on Dean’s Facebook timeline. “7 hrs · I put it all together but still don’t want to believe it’s real life. Gonna miss seeing that well dressed man as I finish my run in the mornings. Gonna miss that smile at basketball tournaments. Tomorrow is never promised guys. RIP Timothy Dean.”

“From what I know, it was an old friend who died of an accidental overdose, and unfortunately, we believe that the substance was ingested at some place other than the apartment.” Buck’s attorney, Seymour Amster, told the Los Angeles Times.

However, Dean’s roommate of three years, Ottavio Taddei, tells KTLA 5 news that, “he never did drugs. I’ve never seen him on drugs, ever.”

A group of about 100 protestors gathered outside Buck’s apartment to express their anger over the second man was found dead in his home on Laurel Ave., on Monday, January 7. Moore’s mother LaTisha Nixon is expected to hold a press conference tomorrow outside of Buck’s apartment. Moore would have celebrated 28 years this week.

The cause of surrounding the death of Timothy Dean has not been released by the Los Angeles coroner’s office as of the publishing of this piece.
