In honor of National Poetry Month, West Hollywood Mayor Pro-Tem, Sepi Shyne, read a personal poem “Third Eye Speak,” at the Regular City Council meeting on Monday, April 4, 2022. The moment was unexpected and should to be shared with the community.

“I wrote this poem after I had gone through a divorce and made a big move to L.A. It was stressful,” she told WEHO TIMES. “We had the recession of 2009 and between those years, I started developing really bad anxiety in my life, which then turned to depression. That’s why I learned Reiki by the way, as a tool to help me heal. I started giving myself reiki, I started taking Chinese medicine, going to a chiropractor and after about a year and a half, I started to feel better.”

“Third Eye Speak was inspired from a place of joy and really tapping into the roundedness of my spirituality and being healed after experiencing a dark time in the soul. Since it is National Poetry Month, I was inspired to share it, because again we have gone through a time where people have been suffering, and we’re coming out of this pandemic, and given all this rhetoric that’s been going on, and all the fears, I thought this would be a good poem to share to help remind people to be more reflective. We are such a small part of this universe. We are so little compared to this vast universe and sometimes we get bogged down and yet at the same time we are so connected, which is so beautiful.”

To hear Mayor Pro-Tem Shyne read her poem at the meeting, it comes up at 1:18 on the WeHoTV YouTube channel, or read it below.

THIRD EYE SPEAK
by Sepi Shyne
Round and round…
These times are bound
For uplifting vibrations within crescent sound…
Round and round…
Life brings what we seek
and from our third eye we speak
To other dimensions that our eyes cannot yet see…
Yet a part of us always knows there is so much more
Than just you and me…
Supporting flux in motion…
Our gaze is able to widen or narrow worlds…
Have you ever pondered that notion?
What if a single drop of thought could bring you closer
To what you always sought?
This is the world in which I swim..
Always seeking some deeper meaning in introspective reflection…
My reflection is a kaleidoscope made up of your vibration…
Our collectiveness brings the heart of the One toward hyper-expansion…
It IS in This moment that we have the choices spun at our feet..
Tell me… Are you starving your soul?
Or Are you prepared to eat?
I wonder how many will consciously understand me…
It doesn’t really matter for subconsciously… we are all heading toward the place where
all energies meet.
Third eye speaks…
Third eye speaks…
Encapsulate and walk with me please…
