The Woods & Holy Water hosted the first ever Wake, Bake & Shake Brunch at 8271 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood. The event was also a launch celebration for the book Once Upon a Cocktail – West Hollywood – Recipe Book, curated by Sarah L. M Mengoni and created by Welcome to the Brightside’s Katie Brightside.
The Wake, Bake & Shake Brunch encouraged guests to participate in a live artwork activation. All Once Upon a Cocktail recipe book purchases automatically entered guests into a raffle to win a one-of-a-kind work of art inspired by illustrations from the book.

With over 850 illustrations, Once Upon a Cocktail is a recipe book featuring 54 of the most treasured venues from across The Creative City of West Hollywood, showcasing a feast of concoctions curated by veteran barkeep Sarah L.M. Mengoni. The book is billed as a tour-guide-style drinking adventure from a world-class region. Cocktails and more showcase West Hollywood’s vast selection of bars, restaurants, hotels, influential hot spots, culinary treats, and supper clubs. Old-Hollywood juxtaposes the rare diamonds of dive bars and the hottest venues in town.
