    The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce gave The Lab Sunset Athletic Club a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate their grand opening on The Sunset Strip on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Mayor John Erickson attended the event and gave owners Rocco Distefano, Zack Ament and Michael Moreno a certificate of recognition acknowledging their grand opening.

    Genevieve Morrill, the President/CEO of WeHo Chamber, commended the small business owners  for opening a business. WeHo Chamber Vice Chair and co-owner of Beachers WeHo Jacob Shaw presented the new business with a buck for good luck, a chamber tradition that spans over 100 years.

    Rocco Distefano founded of The Lab Sunset Athletic Club, a sanctuary dedicated to fitness and well-being. Starting from his living room, The Lab has grown to a prime location on Sunset Boulevard. This expansion brought in partners Zack Ament and Michael Moreno. Ament, who founded addiction and mental health treatment centers Westwind Recovery and Recover Together Bend, and Moreno, with 20 years of business management experience, joined forces with Distefano to enhance the club’s offerings.

    Distefano, inspired by his father, a former professional bodybuilder, pursued a career as a Personal Trainer, Strength & Conditioning Coach, and Nutrition Coach. The three partners, bonded by personal experiences with addiction loss, aimed to create a community-centric space that recognizes the crucial role of community in mental health recovery.

    Why all of the West Hollywood fanfare for a business that lists its address as Los Angeles on their website?? Too many businesses are embarrassed by the West Hollywood name. Hmmmm
