The Arden Cafe is coming to the former home of Irv’s Burgers and most recently the Conservatory, which closed for good at the beginning of this year on January 2, 2023. A sign has gone up at 8289 Santa Monica Blvd., in West Hollywood, announcing that the restaurant @arden_cafe is coming soon to the corner of N Sweetzer Ave and Santa Monica Boulevard (across the street from Hamburger Mary’s and Joey’s Restaurant and close to WeHo City Hall).
A post on the Instagram account for the Arden Cafe announces that the restaurant is opening in August.

An Instagram story gives a sneak peek inside showing that the restaurant will be decked in colorful flowers which leads us to believe that Arden plays on the word Garden.
The multi-functional space was known for being a spacious, stylish hangout with a variety of environments for seasonal Californian fare and cocktails back when it was the Conservatory. The new restaurant appears to be the same setup as the previous business which used to be a popular destination for locals in search of a variety of meals and drinks.
The restaurant included a dining room, semi-open-air bar, lounge area, multiple patios, and a walk-up cafe window.
The owner of Conservatory, Paul Kalt of the Kalt Group stated on Instagram that they would be dedicating more time to ongoing projects and working on new hospitality concepts. Kalt’s Conservatory first gained attention in 2018 due to its stunning design and historic location along Route 66.
Irv’s Burgers was originally part of that location and it has since been relocated and reopened with a classic look about two blocks east from its original location.
The Arden Cafe does not currently have a website attached to the business and their Instagram shows that their first post was made 6 weeks back, on June 16th
More information will be revealed as opening day gets closer, so stay tuned.
I can’t wait to try this new restaurant and hope it becomes a huge success in the neighborhood!!
Well, I hope the prices are going to be down to earth, the queen Violet restaurant with their fake flowers – the prices are outrageous a bowl of pho was $24 they can kiss my ass!
This place but I have reasonable prices and good food
After three incarnations, this location is still referred to as the “former Irv’s Burgers”. Maybe it should be an Irv’s Burgers.
If the theme is supposed to me trippy , they’ve achieved it. Perhaps a place to consume mushrooms when the council approves it???
They pulled a Heart WeHo and did nothing to the space but add flowers. This is also giving me Queen Violet WeHo vibes.
agreed. The fake flowers everywhere defines the quality of the proposed restaurant.
And it will fade and look like crap fast.
Great to hear this. Such a fun and unique spot! I hope they keep a walk up window.
That’s great!
