TRAFFIC ALERT! Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour returns to Los Angeles this evening, this time on the big screen. After a string of sold-out stadium shows across the continent this year, and garnering significant attention at recent NFL games, Taylor Swift is set to bring Los Angeles to a standstill today in the Fairfax District as the Grove mall gears up for the world premiere of Taylor Swift’s concert movie, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.” This event promises to be a showstopper, quite literally, and bound to bring some traffic congestion to nearby West Hollywood neighborhoods.
No word yet on whether Swift will make a live appearance at The Grove today, but TMZ believes it is very likely, considering the secrecy and the heavy security.
The upscale outdoor mall, owned by Rick Caruso, will be closed for the entire day today in preparation of the premiere. The sprawling 600,000-square-foot property, rarely hosts premiers of this scale, but AMC, the film’s distributor, has one of its key cinema hubs in Los Angeles on site, boasting 14 screens.
Below is the trailer for the new film:
Deadline has confirmed that the entire mall will be closed for the day from several sources who are employees at various restaurants and stores in The Grove received an email on Monday, announcing the closure for undisclosed reasons.
For those hoping to catch a glimpse of superstar Swift, hanging around The Grove may not be the best strategy. The Los Angeles Department of Transportation has approved a permitted road closure on Grove Drive, effective from 3 p.m. between Beverly and 3rd on Wednesday, October 11. The closure will be closely monitored by the LAPD’s Wilshire Division and other law enforcement agencies, ensuring a strong police presence throughout the event.
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film was shot at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. It will be released in theaters on Friday, October 13, 2023.
