Superfine Art Fair is coming to The Magic Box Downtown at The Reef located at 1933 S. Broadway, Los Angeles. The four-day art event is highlighting the works of women artists, LGBTQ Artists, and artist people of color from October 13th-16, 2022. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Coined the “worlds most inclusive art fair”, Superfine will feature more than 80 handpicked artists in a maze of beautifully finished ten foot high walls adorned with the top contemporary art from around the world and programming that’s educational, enlightening, and entertaining with a whole new take on what a contemporary art fair should be. The art fair is hand-curated by a team of experts and showcases the top up-and-coming talent from around the world for a true redefinition of an emerging art.
In addition to being super inclusive, Superfine also prides itself on accessible pricing. With most of the art falling into the $75-$2500 price range, and no commission taken from the artists, Superfine has generated over $10 million in sales on behalf of independent artists at annual fairs in cities across the U.S. since launching at Art Basel in 2015.
Superfine founders Alex Mitow and James Miille set out to change people’s perception of the world by forgoing the stuffiness found at most fairs. “When we looked at the art world as gay men in our 20s and 30s, we felt excluded. We built Superfine to be a welcoming space where people who love art could collect it without the ‘red velvet rope’ vibes they’re used to,” adds Mitow.
The Superfine art fair began in NYC and Miami, and quickly expanded to their DC art fair in 2018. Shortly afterward, they brought their unique approach to art fairs in Los Angeles and San Francisco, connecting top local and global artists to an art-hungry populous eager to discover new artists and their work. Upcoming art fairs include Seattle, Dallas, and Chicago throughout 2022/23.
