Spotify hosted the 6th Annual Best New Artist Grammys Party at the Pacific Design Center (PDC), located at 8687 Melrose Avenue on Thursday, February 2, 2022. The invite-only event showcased all 10 of this year’s best new artist Grammy nominees: Anitta, Omar Apollo, Domi & JD Beck, Muni Long, Samara Joy, Latto, Måneskin, Tobe Nwigwe, Molly Tuttle and Wet Leg.
After a three-year hiatus, Spotify hosted its pre-Grammy performance showcase for the best new artist nominees. The showcase, which began in 2017, featured intimate sets by artists such as Lizzo, Lil Nas X, and Billie Eilish, the eventual winner, in its last outing in 2020. Spotify skipped the event in 2021, due to the pandemic, but held a poolside brunch in April when the Grammys took place in Las Vegas, with the best new artist nominees in attendance but no performances.

Construction of the Spotify stage began last week on San Vicente Boulevard, closing one lane on the east side of the street. Traffic was redirected at Melrose Avenue heading north and caused some minor traffic.

A neighbor who lives in the West Hollywood West area closer to Doheny says she could hear the rehearsals the night before showtime. She figured it was much louder for the those who live closer to the PDC, but she described the music as beautiful.
Searchlights light up the night sky Thursday night. The venue was giant black tent that covered the entire stage was faced the PCD structure. There were dressing room trailers lined up along San Vicente Boulevard. Musicians could be seen entering the backstage area to perform their sets. Black SUVs dropped guests off at San Vicente Boulevard.

Grammy Awards 2023 is set to stream live from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on February 5, 2023 (Sunday). Fans in United States can watch the live telecast on CBS, as well as Paramount+, starting 8 pm ET or 5 pm PT.
