Palihouse West Hollywood hotel closed during the pandemic with zero fanfare or any news coverage from local media. For those wondering what’s happening to the space at 8465 Holloway Drive, which has been under construction for several months, the Hollywood Reporter reports that the Soho House is taking over that space. A new venue called the Little House Hotel will open not too far from the the members only restaurant and garden space atop 9200 Sunset Boulevard.
The SoHo House is slated to add the new hotel location in the City of West Hollywood in early 2022.
Photo by Paulo Murillo for WEHO TIMESAccording to SEC filings by Membership Collective Group Inc., “Little House West Hollywood, LLC’s property lease agreement dated February 19, 2021 for 8465 Holloway Drive, West Hollywood, California with GHWHI, LLC, which is indirectly under the control of Ron Burkle, Executive Chairman of our Board. The lease runs for a term of 15 years from October 16, 2021, with options to extend for two additional five-year terms. The annual rent is determined by reference to the total acquisition and development cost of the property, which is borne entirely by the lessor, and based on the project budget the starting rent is anticipated to be $4,932,738 per annum.”
“Our members have always asked for a place to stay with us while they’re here,” Soho House founder Nick Jones, who is also CEO of parent company Membership Collective Group, told The Hollywood Reporter. “Little House is close to the West Hollywood club, but it has an intimate, cozy feel. There are 34 bedrooms to stay overnight, club spaces, a rooftop with views over the city, and House Studio [content creation space] for members to connect and create with each other.”
The space will also include a restaurant.
Little House Hotel will be Soho House’s fifth property in Los Angeles. In addition to its WeHo and DTLA clubs, it also has the Little Beach House Malibu and its Soho Works co-working space on the Sunset Strip, which it launched in 2020.
