SNEAK PEEK! Vanderpump Rules’ Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney Create Super Cute Sandwich Shop in WeHo

Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney, the stars of the reality TV show Vanderpump Rules, are opening Something About Her, a new gourmet sandwich shop in West Hollywood, at 640 N Robertson Blvd. We spotted a moving van at the former home of Flower Burger on May 25, 2023, and reported that workers were hard at work moving in tables, chairs and cushions while other workers installed light fixtures and decorated the up-and-coming restaurant. Blinds are currently up in the windows to hide what’s inside, but not before we snuck a peek to show you a snippet of what’s coming to the City of West Hollywood, hopefully by this summer.

Something About Her describes itself as “unapologetically feminine and undeniably delicious” on the shop’s official Instagram account. Katie said she wants the new sub shop “to feel cozy and inviting [so] people want to hang out here” in an episode of Vanderpump Rules.

And judging from our photos, the sandwich restaurant is ready for her closeup and will most likely be featured in Lisa Vanderpump’s popular reality TV show. The inside shows seafoam green arch panels against white walls, Parisian-like sconces, benches with sage green and gray pillows and beige-colored tables. Female artwork adorns the walls and there are stacked chairs and patio furniture, which will go in the outside patio.

The new restaurant is a far cry from the previous restaurant, Flower Burger, which was anything but subtle with its explosion of color from walls to ceiling, which we happened to capture in the photos below before it was completely gone.

On June 15th Katie Maloney posted on her Instagram a few snippets of the interior and shared an update on Something About Her, stating, “I stopped by today and meant to take a photo of how beautiful it is inside, [Katie] and [Ariana] were tasting breads so I got distracted and only took photos of bread.”

She posted pictures of bread.

“All those breads? We tasted all those breads,” Katie said in an Instagram video. “We had a bread day today at Something About Her, ’cause we’re trying to make the best sandwiches you’ve ever had. And in order to do that, we have to have the best bread. We can’t just have sliced bread… I cannot wait for y’all to taste our sandwiches.”

The stars of Vanderpump Rules are setting up their sandwich shop just a few doors down from Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR, and a short walk to Lisa’s Pump Lounge restaurant, which is slated to close for good in July after being open in West Hollywood for 10 years.

Something About Her is also not far from Tom Tom restaurant belonging to their exes Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz. News of the restaurant venture came out in the midst of what is now famously known as Scandoval, referring to Sandoval reportedly having an affair with Raquel Leviss.

The affair came to light at the same time that Vanderpump’s two highly profiled West Hollywood restaurants, Pump Lounge, at 8948 Santa Monica Blvd., and Tom Tom Restaurant, at 8932 Santa Monica Blvd., both had their liquor licenses suspended on Wednesday, March 8.

Maddix And Malone launched a Something About here online store back in March, and they’ve been making a killing months before the Sandwich shop even opens its doors. Swag includes an array of sweatshirts, T-shirts, hats, and phone cases, all of which retail for under $50.

Vanderpump Rules hosted a party in the space back in September, 2022, to celebrate Something About Her, which was filmed for the reality TV show. Viewers of the show got a glimpse inside where guests tasted various subs, including a Greek salad sandwich and a spicy turkey sandwich. The signage was cryptic in the window. We now know that the space is a new restaurant with a Vanderpump connection.

An opening date has not yet been announced. There will be more on the opening as information becomes available.
