Sheriff Deputies Respond to Report of Gunshot Fired at New York Deli West Hollywood

West Hollywood sheriff deputies responded to reports of a gunshot fired at New York Deli at 7754 Santa Monica Blvd, on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and N Genessee Avenue. The business had a side window smashed, but it is not yet clear if it was from an actual bullet. The incident occurred at roughly 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to a source, sheriff deputies are not certain if it was a gun shot that smashed the window based on the damage, but they are treating the incident as a firearms incident. The area was sealed off to moving traffic and pedestrians as they searched for a suspect. One person was reportedly injured from the broken glass, but the injures do not seem to be serious.

An employee at New York Deli tells WEHO TIMES that they have been having a lot of problems with unhoused individuals with mental health issues. She said she heard the sound of a single gunshot and heard the shattering of glass from their storefront window. According to a source, the deli had a similar incident four years ago, but that has not been confirmed.

OK, some loser fired a single shot and possibly broke a window. The Sheriff’s department adequately responded and, got the situation under control. If the idiot is ever caught they will have a serious felony rap and will NEVER be able to legally own or have a firearm for life. If they’re a felon in possession of a firearm violating PC 29800, it’s 3 years in prison for that alone and, additional felonies with even MORE years for the crimes committed. All of which are strikable offences.

Why did they not have a security camera or two monitoring the front and back of their store? It would have helped to solve these types of situations.
