Sample Saturday and Health Fair is returning to West Hollywood after a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19. Capitol Drugs and the WeHo Chamber have set the date for Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.
The event will welcome back medical providers, local businesses, and agencies at Capitol Drugs, located at 8578 Santa Monica Boulevard. This will be an afternoon of fun, activities, free giveaways, and information about various local services, ranging from medical, mental, and physical health.
This year, the Sample Saturday and Health Fair will welcome back various organizations, including Paws LA, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Being Alive, APLA, The Gay and Lesbian Center, City Of West Hollywood, Valley Community Health, Alliance for Housing, Pacific Oaks Medical Group, and AltaMed.
The event is an opportunity for participants to engage in a variety of activities. Past events included spinning wheels, pushup challenges, and pull-down contests. Attendees were treated to various complementary protein shakes, courtesy of Power Zone. They had the opportunity to sample products, explore services, and take home free samples and a chance to win various prizes.
One of the standout features of the event was the access to expert advice from health, fitness, and nutrition professionals. Attendees will have a chance to learn about preventive care, holistic medicine, and the latest innovations in sports medicine, self-care, and aesthetics.
Business booths offer an array of free samples, including energy bars, protein powders, and pre-workout drinks. The last health fair featured local pizza parlors providing complimentary pizza slices.
Cedars Sinai Medical Center has always played a significant role at this event. They will return to provide insights into their services. In 2019, Dr. Stephany Tran, a primary care physician at Cedars Sinai, was on hand to address inquiries regarding HIV, transgender hormone therapy, and to offer information on anal cancer prevention.
The Sample Saturday & Health Fair is a valuable platform for community engagement, education, and exploration of health and wellness initiatives.
