The Life Group LA wants to take you on a horseback ride with their 13th Annual SADDLE UP LA AIDS Fundraising event taking place in the beautiful hills of Glendale, CA on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
The ride raises awareness on the fact that the AIDS Pandemic is not over, and it raises much needed funds for the HIV services provided by The Life Group LA. It is also an affirmation of the power of compassion and a demonstration that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things.
“SADDLE UP LA is like an AIDS walk on horses” Sunnie Rose Berger the Executive Director/Co-founder of The LIFE Group LA told WehoTimes.com “The funds raised from the event allows us to continue our work helping those in the Los Angeles community and abroad who are either infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. This event supports our inspirational and empowering free POZ Life Weekend Seminars through the year which help s attendees make informed choices and decisions regarding their healthcare and personal wellbeing.”
The event has 75 horses available. A horse is secured once the registration form has been received and the registration fee has been paid. This event is open to the public and no experience with horse riding is needed.
“Our fundraising goal is $100,000,” Berger stated. “One can support by donating to a rider on the www.saddleupla.org website and it is a tax detectable donation!”
The ride begins at the famous LA Horse Rentals Stables in Glendale, CA. The ride goes for two hours with the choice of two different rides. The scenic Mountain Ride which heads up into the hills of Griffith Park with vistas of the surrounding countryside. This option includes a watering stop at the top of the trail where all riders gather together before heading back down to the stables. Or option two is the less challenging Poker Ride where riders weave through the lower trails of Griffith Park with four stops for riders to draw a card to build their best poker hand before heading back to the stables. Be sure to turn in your cards at the end of the ride for a chance at a special Prize.
After the ride, the riders and guest head to the festivities at the Country BBQ. One does not have to register for the ride to enjoy the great Country BBQ! The Country BBQ. The menu includes: BBQ Tri Tip, BBQ Chicken, Grilled Veggies, Potato Salad, Green Salad, Desert, Soda/Water/Ice Tea and a no-host bar.
During the Country BBQ guests will be treated with performances by Alana Sweetwater, Robbie Wayne and the LA Wranglers. Line Dance Lessons will be given, as DJ Rick spins tunes with Michael Hennessy, who will be the evening’s Master of Ceremony. There will also be a silent auctions to.
