“We’re back,” posted Chris Miller, the owner of the historical Revolver Video Bar, on his Instagram account today. “Come see me tonight with @djivanla….or tomorrow night…or Saturday night!!!! Just come…”

“We’re OPEN!” Reads another post on the bar’s official Facebook page shortly after (the last post on their timeline is stamped June 16, 2020, so that’s one day over a year). “The revolving doors will spin once again starting at 5 pm. We’re excited to welcome you all back and can’t wait to catch up! @djivanla will be spinning and the gogo’s will be dancing! Come say hi!”

That’s right. The long wait is finally over. Los Angeles County is now open, and so is Revolver Video Bar, located at 8851 Santa Monica Boulevard, in the heart of West Hollywood’s Boystown/LGBT Rainbow. The bar known for drinks specials, life DJs, Go-Go dancers and of course, some of the best video compilations in town, had a soft opening yesterday, before officially opening today.

An newly added Outzone complements the side of the bar on Larrabee Street with more patio space.

Chris Miller posted on his social medial that the bar was hiring earlier this month. There were openings for bartenders, barbacks, cocktail servers and security guards.

Proudly gay owned and operated, Revolver Video Bar has been a staple in West Hollywood Boys Town for over 30 years. Known for having the “friendliest staff on the Boulevard” Revolver was busy pre-COVID when it was open 7 days a week, offering Happy Hour, karaoke and drag shows during the week, and DJ’s, Gogo dancers and laser light shows during the weekends.

The bar joined The Abbey Food & Bar when it closed its hours of operation in an effort to keep the community safe during the coronavirus pandemic right before it was mandated by the Los Angeles County Health Department in mid-March 2020.

The bar has pretty quiet since, but is now open to celebrate its 10th Anniversary, since the new owners took over.

According to their website, hours of operations are as follows. Wed-Thu 5PM-12AM, Fri 5PM-2AM, Sat-Sun 3PM-2AM, Mon-Tue CLOSED. Happy Hour is Mon-Fri 5-9PM ($6 Well Drinks, $3 Bud Light, $5 Glass of Wine. Saturday 3PM-9PM is $3 Tequila Drinks, and on Sunday from 3PM-MIDNIGHT is $3 Vodka Drinks. Visit for for more information.
