A possible wrong-way collision left two people critically injured late Monday night. The car crash occurred on La Brea Avenue, between Santa Monica Boulevard and Lexington Avenue, in front of Ralph’s supermarket. The collision occurred around 11:15 p.m.
KTLA5 news reports that both vehicles involved in the crash suffered severe damage, and the impact was so intense that the drivers were trapped inside their respective cars.
Responding Los Angeles County firefighters were able to rescue the two individuals in the car crash, and they were transported to a hospital with critical injuries.
Thomas Ourada told KTLA that he witnessed one of the cars moving at a high speed and that the driver appeared to be driving on the wrong side of the road. Thomas Ourada stated that the white car was driving very fast in the opposite direction and collided with a Mustang that was driving normally. He said he say the passenger of one car with his legs up in the car seat where his should’ve been.
