Schmitty’s West Hollywood bar, located at 8737 Santa Monica Boulevard, hosted this month’s WeHo Chamber Mix & Mingle business mixer on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The event served food and drinks and a chance to the WeHo business community to meet at a social setting. The food was catered by Mezcalero DTLA, which is owned by Jay Krymis and his wife Michel, who also own Schmitty’s Bar (they also own Mescalero Long Beach and are currently working on building a new bar at the former FuBar space in WeHo).
Last night’s event attracted 55 business. Some business entities included JJLA, Wellsfargo, the W Hollywood Hotel, Barber Surgeons Guild, Chamberlain West Hollywood, Gym Sportsbar, and The Bayou, to name a few.

RSG Group Chief Operating Officer Colin Thomas was at the event to introduce John Reed Fitness West Hollywood to the community. RSG Group is the largest fitness operator and proprietor of the Gold’s Gym and John Reed Fitness Brands. John Reed Fitness manager of the new up-and-coming gym in West Hollywood, Taylor Bennett was also at the event. Both men met several potential members at the mixer.
John Reed Fitness is slated to open at 8612 Santa Monica Boulevard in October. John Reed has joined the WeHo Chamber, which means a ribbon cutting ceremony could be in the works in celebration of the gym’s grand opening next month.

The monthly mixers are held at different Chamber Member businesses each month, including many at top hotels and restaurants in the area. Guests enjoy good catered food, drinks, raffles for prizes and mingling with fellow businesses. Each host adds a unique touch to make the event memorable. With the exception of some holiday months, Mix & Mingles are held on the last Wednesday of each month from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Schmitty’s Bar, located at 8737 Santa Monica Boulevard, is approaching its first-year anniversary in November. The bar celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the WeHo Chamber on December 17, 2022.
