    PHOTOS! LA Pride Partners with Universal Studios Hollywood for Pride is Universal

    Pride is Universal returned to Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, June 8, 2023. LA Pride Partnered with the Hollywood-themed amusement park to offer ticket holders access to the at 4pm (2pm for VIP tickets) and then at 9pm, the park cleared out the general public and that’s when the exclusive pride experience really began. Those with tickets had after-hours access to experience rides and attractions with shorter lines.

    The annual event known for its drag show and unique pride experience after dark, offered not one, but two DJ’s spinning tracks throughout the park in addition to the Main Stage entertainment in Universal Plaza featuring LGBTQ+ Artists.

    There was the Pride swag from retail stores, food at select restaurants, and cash bars were available to get everyone in the Pride spirit. And let us not forget to mention some of our favorite characters that were ready for a meet and greet.

    Much later in the evening, there’s even a dance party in the lower and upper level. This year’s drag shows featuring DJ Brynn Taylor, Morgan McMichaels, Kerri Colby, Angeria Paris VanMichaels, and Jessica Wild.

    Pride is Universal is actually a fundraiser for Christopher Street West (CSW). the nonprofit organization that produces the LA Pride Parade & Festival, and other LA Pride events. A portion of ticket purchased go to the community programs CSW produces, sponsors or supports all year long.

    Christopher Street West Association (CSW), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, organized the world’s first permitted parade advocating for gay rights on June 28, 1970, to commemorate the Stonewall Rebellion on Christopher Street in New York City the year prior. Over 50 years later, CSW remains an active voice for the LGBTQ+ community of Greater Los Angeles. While best known for producing the iconic LA Pride Parade celebration & Pride in the Park (the largest Pride music event in the country), they also organize, sponsor or support community events throughout the year, and work with their nonprofit, philanthropic, and community partners to further diversity, equity, and inclusion.
