The 54th annual L.A. Pride Parade returned to its roots in the heart of Hollywood on Sunday, marking a vibrant celebration of the LGBTQ+ community. The parade moved west to east this year, from Highland Ave. to Cahuenga Blvd. on Hollywood Blvd.

According to reports, this year’s event saw the largest gathering of participants in the parade’s history, featuring some of Southern California’s leading LGBTQ+ nonprofits, employee resource groups, city agencies, local, regional, and national businesses, clubs, bands, floats, and numerous surprises along the route.

Grand Marshals for this year’s parade included actor and activist George Takei as the Icon Grand Marshal, recognized for his significant contributions to his career and industry. The Community Grand Marshal was Los Angeles Fire Department’s Kristin Crowley, honored for her impactful work and dedication to the LGBTQ+ community. Professional wrestler Cassandro El Exótico was celebrated as the Legacy Grand Marshal for his enduring influence on his industry and community.

West Hollywood once again participated in this year’s parade, using the same float from the WeHo Pride parade the weekend prior. Vice Mayor Chelsea Byers and council member Sepi Shyne were the only ones from the council on the float along with Public Safety Commissioner Tod Hallman. They invited young people onto the stage to make the float lifelier.

This year’s LA Pride Block Party kicked off on Hollywood Blvd, offering a free street festival with food and drinks, beer gardens, engaging activities, live performances, and more. The festival transformed Hollywood Blvd., just two blocks from the parade’s end, into a lively celebration space with outdoor bars, pride decorations, and entertainment from drag queens and DJs throughout the afternoon and evening.
