The Pacific Design Center (PDC) hosted its 23rd Annual Stars of Design awards ceremony on March 22, 2023. Among those honored that evening was interior designer and West Hollywood resident, Ryan Saghian, who was awarded a Star on the Rise Award.
After launching his business at the ripe age of 21-years-old nearly a decade ago, Los Angeles-based interior designer Ryan Saghian has since emerged as one of this era’s most electrifying talents. His career was just celebrated with an inaugural Stars on the Rise Award in The PDC, the elite West Coast destination for global design.
Since its inception decades ago, the PDC’s Stars of Design Awards ceremonies have honored the West Coast’s most dynamic talents in architecture, interior design, photography, art, landscape design, product design, and now, a new category: Stars on the Rise. The PDC awards are the highest recognition of creative professionals, and the list of past award recipients reads as a “Who’s Who” of iconic artists and visionaries.
“It’s the Oscars of design,” said the host of this year’s show, Jennifer Convy. Convy is an interior designer, TV/webcast host, producer, and CEO of the networking organization Women in Luxury Design. She also hosts the webcast series “W.I.L.D. on Design!” presented by the Pacific Design Center.
“It’s surreal to receive an award of this stature in the place I have admired for so many years,” said Saghian of his Stars on the Rise Award. “To be recognized by my peers is an incredible honor. I hope to continue to contribute to this profession and share my passion for design. And for any of those dreamers and outcasts out there, if people are doubting how far you can go, go so far that you can’t hear them anymore!”
@ryansaghian Instagram screen grabHe added that he grew up in Los Angeles and always felt like the Pacific Design Center was the end all, be all, of design. He was especially honored to be recognized alongside his friend and colleague, Cesar Giraldo.
West Hollywood Mayor Sepi Shyne, presented a proclamation to the Pacific Design Center at the beginning of the special occasion.
Ryan Saghian is a Los Angeles born and bred interior designer. In addition to the most recent Star on the Rise Award given by the Pacific Design Center, he is also the youngest designer to be awarded Interior Designer of the Year by the City of Los Angeles. His work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Interiors California, Traditional Home, Vogue, WSJ, among other top-tier outlets. He also owns Ryan Saghian Home, which includes tiles, wallpaper, tableware, rugs, and furniture collections, and is the author of the book Unapologetically Chic.
On wave of millennial designers, Saghian also has a huge social media presence, with an Instagram fan base of 334,000 and growing (find him under the handle @ryansaghian).
Saghian received his bachelor’s of science degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of California, and he was recognized as one of the Top 25 Designers 2022 in the Los Angeles Times inaugural design issue.
