Paris Tokyo by Azai Sushi is Coming to West Hollywood

Paris Tokyo by Azai Sushi is opening in the City of West Hollywood after closing in the City of Beverly Hills. California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) states that Paris Tokyo will be moving to 8289 Santa Monica Blvd, near West Hollywood City Hall.

8289 Santa Monica is currently home to the Arden restaurant which houses the Arden Cafe. The Arden took over The Conservatory restaurant space after that business closed on January 2023.

Is the Arden on its way out to make way for Paris Tokyo by Azai Sushi? That has yet to be revealed.

We can report that the liquor license for a 47 – On-Sale General Eating Place became active as recently as March 20, 2024. The license is also transfering from the WeHo Conservatory, LLC, according to ABC.

Operating restrictions are as follows: The quarterly gross sales of alcoholic beverages shall not exceed the quarterly gross sales of food during the same period. The licensee shall at all times maintain records which reflect separately the gross sale of food and the gross sales of alcoholic beverages of the licensed business. Said records shall be kept no less frequently than on a quarterly basis and shall be made available to the Department on demand.

Entertainment provided shall not be audible beyond the area under the control of the licensee(s) as defined on the most recently certified ABC-257 and ABC-253.

Paris Tokyo was located in the Golden Triangle at 467 N Canon Dr, in Beverly Hills. The sushi restaurant was known for its traditional and authentic Japanese sushi. It specialized in sushi boats, Omakase, cut rolls, sashimi and nigiri with a simplistic Japanese recipe. The Japanese-imported fish was fresh, and the restaurant’s menu changed according to the season to ensure the freshest catch was served.

It appears the restaurant closed in Beverly Hills, in late 2023, or early 2024.

According to ABC, Paris Tokyo is making a comeback in the City of West Hollywood at the address that’s currently home to The Arden Restaurant and Cafe.

This story will update as more information becomes available.

Had to laugh when I read…“Entertainment provided shall not be audible beyond the area under the control of the licensee(s)…” Never enforced by Code Compliance. Never.

Please just leave this city. You seem perpetually miserable. Go move to some sleepy conservative boring town and leave us alone.

Look at you telling people where they should live. Who died and left you in charge? I care enough about where I live to see it improve. Those that tell other people to shut up and move are part of the problem, not the solution. You don’t critique how this city is run. All you do is critique other residents that dare speak up. You’re something special.

No, sorry JF1/Enough. I think speaking up is very important. And I do recognize there are issues in our city that need to be addressed.

But the difference is I celebrate the good things as well.

Every comment from you is negative and nasty. EVERY SINGLE ONE. You are always complaining. You seem very miserable!

I’m just trying to help 🙂
