New West Hollywood French Brasserie, Amour, is Now Open

West Hollywood’s newest French dining destination, Amour, is now open at 8715 Beverly Blvd, in the former home of Dominick’s restaurant, which was in operation at that location for 67 years until it closed in 2015.

Amour is an elevated French brasserie harmonizing casual French cuisine with fine dining. Diners can choose between a regular or vegan tasting menu, and they also have the option for an à la carte experience. Chef Dani Chavez-Bello (El Bulli, Bouley at Home) designed the menus to demystify classic French dining with lighter, more approachable options, without forgoing the fundamentals of the cuisine.

The new, highly anticipated addition to the vibrant West Hollywood culinary scene opened on December 22, 2023. The restaurant is conveniently situated next to the live performance venue The Peppermint Club.

Representing the inaugural gastronomic venture of industry luminary Thomas Fuks, the visionary founder of 111 Hospitality, Amour promises a contemporary interpretation of traditional French dining. The establishment boasts a jewel-box tasting menu space alongside an expansive outdoor dining area, offering an enticing à la carte menu.

Crafted by the talented Abbie Fuks, the design of the space is nothing short of remarkable. Distinctive elements include floors adorned with wood sourced from 19th-century France, intricately handmade and finished custom tapestry chairs in the private dining room, an extensive library housing rare vintage books, and other captivating features.

Under the culinary guidance of Chef Chavez-Bello, whose credentials include stints at renowned establishments such as El Bulli and Bouley at Home, Amour’s menu is strategically curated to demystify classic French dining. Embracing lighter and more approachable options, the cuisine retains its foundational essence.

The beverage selection at Amour, meticulously curated by General Manager & Wine Director Thibaud Duccini, showcases a focus on both French and Californian wines, providing a delightful complement to the culinary offerings.

Amour began its dinner service from Tuesday to Saturday, operating between 5:30 pm and 10:00 pm. The establishment has ambitious plans for the future, with the intention to introduce brunch and extend operating hours in the months to come. As Amour brings a touch of modern elegance to the rich tapestry of Los Angeles dining, anticipation builds for an unforgettable culinary experience.

I really wish them good luck, even with such high prices will be hard to keep up with this city unionized policies … Unfortunately no affordable restaurants are yet to open. Residents needs places to go like Shop or Kitchen24 but those kind of concepts are not sustainable in West Hollywood … poor us residents of this city.

Exactly. One of my pet peeves. People describe EVERYTHING as ‘iconic’ now when I think the word they are looking for is ‘memorable.’
