Neighbors and Friends Join Sheriffs for Burgers and A Good Cause

This past Wednesday, March 3rd, fifty or more Community members, along with Sheriff’s Station Deputies gathered in the motor court of the WeHo Sheriff’s station for a picnic style lunch. The IN-N-OUT Burger Food Truck was on hand serving Cheeseburgers and Double-Double Burger meals for $9. and $10., with proceeds going to support the WeHo Station Team in this year’s Baker to Vegas Race. Each year nearly 8,000 police officers and support personnel from all over the United States form relay teams to run 120 miles from Baker, California to Las Vegas.

West Hollywood City Council Candidate Steve Martin reminisced with the family of longtime Station volunteer Bill Senigram, who died in 2011. Dave Smith, (an avid runner who has participated in the Baker Race since 1991) and Sgt. Jon Klaus, presented Senigram’s daughter, Celia with a framed photograph of her dad (Bill) standing alongside James “Jimmy” Ferrell, who died unexpectedly of Leukemia in 2013.
