EQUAL MEANS EQUAL & Moby Arts will be hosting a special event to commemorate Constitution Day at the ERA Feminist Art Show the West Hollywood. The event will feature live performances by Nancy Sanchez and Corie Mattie on Sunday, September 17, 2023, 2pm – 5pm, at Long Hall in Plummer Park.
September 17th is Constitution Day. To celebrate this important day, the event will feature a live performance by Mexican-American songwriter and performer Nancy Sanchez. There will also be a live art activation by LA Hope Dealer, Corie Mattie with an all-female art lineup.
The Equal Rights Amendment, the 28th Amendment to the Constitution, was fully ratified in 2020 and provides all Americans with equal rights and protections under our laws, regardless of sex or gender.
Unfortunately, the Federal Government is refusing to publish and adopt it; the first time this has ever happened in the history of our country and is in direct violation of Article V of the U.S. Constitution.
The ERA Feminist Art Show “Planting Dreams to Harvest Hope” is being held in West Hollywood at Long Hall in Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd, 90046 through September 26th. Artist Corie Mattie will be creating an art installation of the twenty six words that will change the world: the text of the Equal Rights Amendment. Other featured artists include an exhibit by Rosario Martinez “Lapiztola,” Siyowin Peters “Protecting the Sacred”, Elyse Pignolet, Sara Sandoval, Amy Smith, Mynxii White, Natalie White and Whitney Yoh.
