Micky’s WeHo is hosting a Holiday Celebration and Charity Toy Drive benefiting The Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic on Sunday, December 18, 2022, 4 p.m. Micky’s is located at 8857 Santa Monica Boulevard between San Vicente Boulevard and N Larrabee Street.
The annual holiday event presented by Stefano Rosso and hosted by Gert Crawford, will offer a complimentary buffet in exchange for an unwrapped gift donation to Micky’s Charity Toy Drive which will benefit children in need of some cheer during the holidays. Come for the food, the music, and enjoy the holiday lights already in full display at everyone’s favorite nightclub and bar, Micky’s WeHo. But most importantly, get into the spirit of giving.
The Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic, located at 3324 Sunset Blvd., in Los Angeles, is a licensed nonprofit primary health care facility that provides free quality medical, counseling, and related services to men, women, and children. Clinic services are provided by a small staff of volunteer medical and counseling professionals who donate their time and experience in services to the community. Funding is provided by a combination of individual philanthropic, corporate, and government sponsors. The clinic has provided free healthcare to over one million people since 1968, and are currently celebrating 51 years of service. The are also one of the first free clinics to open in the country over 50 years ago.
The book “Uplifting Lives” by Lauren River Swerdloff, tells the true story of the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic’s 50+ year legacy. She has volunteered at the clinic for over seven years and now serves as a member of the Board of Directors. Her philanthropic work has been recognized by a Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama, a Community Service Award from California Assemblyman Mike Gatto, and the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic’s 50th Anniversary Leadership Award. She graduated from Columbia University, earning a degree in Human Rights. Currently, she is a law student at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
