WeHo’s LunchboxWax is Closing on Santa Monica Blvd After 5 Years

The City of West Hollywood is losing yet another business on Santa Monica Boulevard. LunchboxWax (West Hollywood) located at 8621 Santa Monica Boulevard is closing permanently today, Saturday August 21, 2021 at 6 p.m. after waxing bottoms and brows in the community for five years. The location first opened in WeHo on April 16, 2016 according to their official Facebook page.

There is no announcement of their closure on their social media platforms for the WeHo location. In fact, it seems to be business as usual. A post went up on their Facebook page yesterday, offering a deal where if you buy 5 of your favorite services, you get one free with their wax series. “That’s 6 months of smooth, just for you.”

According to a source, the reason for the closure in the WeHo location is because LunchboxWax was bought off by a larger corporation. That corporation did not want to keep the location in West Hollywood.

Guests who are signed up to their mailing list received the bad news in their inbox on August 19th.

The email announcing their closure reads as follows:

Dear LunchboxWax of West Hollywood, California Guests,

LunchboxWax is the third business to close on that stretch between Westbourne Drive and Westmount Drive.

Editor’s note: This article was updated to reflect that LunchboxWax was bought by a larger corporation, according to an employee at the WeHo location.

That’s unfair to make customers that bought pack deals drive all the way down (for those that have a car) to Costa Mesa. They should refund the unused amount due to them closing shop and preventing customers from utilizing what they paid for.
