Log Cabin Republicans Stage Gays for Trump Rally in WeHo

The Log Cabin Republicans Los Angeles staged a Gays for Trump rally in West Hollywood last night, Friday, October 23, 2020, outside of the Pacific Design Center on Melrose Avenue.

The “Gays and Housewives Take Over WeHo,” rally began at 9:30pm with a small group of about 40 people gathered at the steps of the PDC building. That number increased to about sixty people, not counting the members of the press who were there to cover the event. A lot of the protestors were people of color. A good number of them were Latinos for Trump. It is unclear how many of the protestors were actual members of the LGBT community, and it appears a lot them came from areas outside of West Hollywood.

The rally began with speeches by gay trump supporters who are mostly famous on Twitter. They showed their support for the president with Trump flags, MAGA hats, and t-shirts.

They also allied with Trump by not wearing protective face coverings or masks that scientists say can help stop the spread of the coronavirus. They ignored the city of West Hollywood’s mandatory face-covering requirement, which has been in effect since late May 2020.

A drag queen who goes by the name of Lady MAGA was flown in from Utah to lead the rally, which was supposed to start at the PDC building and gather outside of Rocco’s, on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard. They referred to Rocco’s as an anti-police establishment because the WeHo restaurant and bar supports Black Lives Matter with the names of Black individuals who were killed at the hands of police officers written on the restaurant’s patio area.

The protesters decided to march up and down Santa Monica Boulevard. “Four more years! Four more Years!” They chanted while RuPaul’s song, I Am American blared from a loud speaker.

The gays for Trump and their allies had heated confrontations with patrons dining in West Hollywood. There was an altercation outside of Rocco’s between a gay man and Lady MAGA. Passing Fiesta Cantina, the situation escalated to screaming matches between customers and pro-Trump marchers and individuals slung insults back and forth as the demonstrators marched past The Abbey Food & Bar.

A car joined the march on Melrose Avenue opposing Trump while blaring the lyrics “F*CK Donald Trump” from the song FDT by YG (Featuring Nipsey Hussle).

“I have not spent my life fighting for gay rights to see these gay and lesbians who feel like they are…entitled to have an opinion that supports a president that is misogynist, homophobic, transphobic and oh my God, racist,” David Aron told WEHO TIMES. “I don’t understand how they can justify their support for this man. It doesn’t make sense. It’s like that meme Salt for Slugs. We fought hard so [Lady MAGA] could walk the streets in drag. That’s what I should have told her.”

West Hollywood Sheriff’s lined up alongside the protestors to make sure they stayed safe on Santa Monica Boulevard. The Sheriff Deputies were not in the riot gear they usually wear during Black Lives Matter protests in the same area. Also missing was the barbwire slinky protecting the West Hollywood Sheriff’s station at this particular rally.

The rally was deemed a huge success by one of the organizers who stated that history was made that night when compared to a Gays for Trump rally that took place two years ago in West Hollywood. He said only five people showed up to that rally.

The Gays and Housewives Take Over WeHo rally presumably got its name because the majority of LGBT people and housewives absolutely loathe the current President of the United States.

The rally ended at roughly 11:30pm. No one was cited for not wearing masks in West Hollywood that night.

They are a bunch of uncle tom’s of the gay community. They should be ostracized and thrown out of West Hollywood.

Gee, they chose Rocco’s because of it’s support for BLM? I’ve never been to Rocco’s. It’s my new favorite place!

Oh, and Log Cabin, if you consider 40 people a “huge success” and had to import a drag queen from Utah (Really?!?) then you really are drinking Diaper Donnie’s Kool Aid from his outstretched doll hands..
