The clock is ticking for Lisa Vanderpump’s Pump Restaurant, which is closing next week on Wednesday July 5, 2023, after being at 8948 Santa Monica Boulevard, in the heart of West Hollywood’s LGBT Rainbow District, for the past decade.
According to a @pumprestaurant Instagram post yesterday, reservations are filling up on the restaurant’s last week of operations. “Make sure to schedule your reservations now for this week through @OpenTable,” reads the post. “We have had a surge of extra guest and hope to accommodate you all! See you soon 🌸 #PumpRestaurant.”
A representative for Vanderpump released a statement of its closure on May 4th, in response to rumors and reports that the space had been listed for lease on LoopNet, the online marketplace for commercial property, which listed the 2,865 SF space as a storefront retail. It is not yet clear if the business has found a new tenant as of the posting of this piece.
We reported here first that two highly profiled West Hollywood restaurants partly owned by the reality TV star and animal rights activist were in hot water with the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC). The liquor licenses for Pump Lounge, and Tom Tom Restaurant and Bar, which is located down street, both had their liquor licenses suspended on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. The ABC hold was described as a B/E Collections Suspension.
The official announcement of their closure reads as follows:
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that the lease at Pump Restaurant is expiring and we will be closing its doors on July 5th, after ten years of beautiful evenings under our olive trees. As a family, we are looking to the future of the Vanderpump establishments and will be opening at least two more restaurants with Caesars Entertainment in the coming year. While we have loved our time operating Pump, to take on another 10-year lease with a huge increase in rent by the landlords, is not something we are ready to commit to. After successfully running 37+ establishments for many years, this type of rent is untenable. We will be open throughout Pride month in West Hollywood, to support the local community with one last hurrah, and we look forward to welcoming you all to TomTom & Sur in the months following! Thank you for the past decade of support, we have loved our staff, our patrons and our time together.
Best,
The Pump Family
Hello. It’s really sad that Pump is closing, which probably has already a done deal. What happened? Covid? Lack of patrons? Combination? Maybe, stretch out in advertising ( I’m not a California gal) I call MN. my home. Born and raised and still live here. It’s kinda a head scratcher. Did she put Vegas ahead of local people? The LGBTQ seems to revolve around Pump. They are accepted and part of a larger thing than just a parade. Closing Pump just seems we are not supporting or accepting the LGBTQ., community. I get she needs to be active and doing… Read more »
I had sex so many times and each one of those bathrooms you guys have no idea ! sometimes with the staff ..many times with the patrons! I’d also grab a couple of flowers in the vase on my way out to you to take home! There is several times I would see them bring the plates of food out from the kitchen and I would tell them that I would bring it to the table for them and I’d walk right out the door at my free meal! This past Christmas was the best I had a six way… Read more »
Got to move on. Hope you grab your olive trees !!!
I’m sure however much the landlord is wanting to raise the rent, is pocket change to Lisa. She’s the Queen and although it’s sad because the history and all the love that has come from PUMP, she will succeed anywhere she goes onto. It’s that Landlords loss

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
If a successful woman is being played by the landlord so badly what chance does anybody else have? Imagine me trying to open a store fixing computers and having to pay a million dollars a year in rent?
The food not so great ..
service meh
For real??
I’m in Australia, would give my left tit to go just once lol.
I’ve been there a dozen times and everything was always perfect. You sound like a liar.
That’s your opinion…but I agree with daylene…the food was just ok..and the drinks wasn’t even strong…I think they wasn’t getting the business it once got…weho have plenty of BETTER options
