Leggy Riggs presents a free pop-up circus cabaret at WeHo Park, featuring WeHo Arts grantee Alx Luke. The Euro pop singer and songwriter is debuting his live permanence on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 4pm and 6pm.
Having immigrated from Russia, West Hollywood resident, Alx Luke, will be joined by a cast of world class illusionists, burlesque dancers, drag queens, contortionists, object manipulators and aerial acrobats. Emceed by drag queen Cassandra Complex, and produced by aerial illusionist Elena Brocade, the free pop-up show will bring pop culture and circus cabaret for the entire West Hollywood community.
Leggy Riggs is a pop-up circus cabaret set in iconic and scenic locations. She reflects the diversity of Los Angeles and moves from city rooftops, mountain overlooks, decadent hotel lobbies, street-side and desert getaways. Stylized in modern couture and the avant-garde, Leggy Riggs brings to the stage a cast of world class performers with various levels of fancy to roughing it – from dinner theater to circus in the park – each Leggy Riggs experience will highlight a local cafe, vinter, or brewery to celebrate the diverse and vibrant communities of Los Angeles, or this case, West Hollywood.
Featured performer Alx Luke, is a singer-songwriter and aerial performer. Alx combines the world of circus arts with dynamic musical performances on the same stage. Alx worked with Makeba Riddick (Rihanna, Destiny’s Child, Eminem), Mischke (M.J. Britney Spears), J Hart (Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth), Ayanna Howard (Bebe Rexha, Robin Thicke), Jaden Michaels (Lea Michele, Demi Lovato), and several others. It was a dream come true for Alx to work with some of his childhood heroes. After being inspired by his first Cirque Du Soleil show, Alx dove into the world of aerial performance which gave him the opportunity to discover new levels of artistic expression. The vulnerability and raw emotion that is present in his songwriting was amplified through physical movement. Alx put his combined talents on display for the first time at the Pride Festival in Indianapolis in 2021, and has numerous music videos.
This will be second free pop-up performance at WeHo Park this fall. WEHO Arts Performance Grant recipient Leopold Nunan, “The Leo From Rio Sound Machine”, invited his musical friends and guests to perform with him at a high energy interactive pop-up dance concert at West Hollywood Park this past Sunday, September 26, 2021.
