Lavo Ristorante received a ribbon-cutting ceremony from the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce on Thursday. The coastal Italian restaurant, located at 9201 Sunset Blvd, opened on March 15, 2022. The ribbon-cutting was their way of making their opening official in the City of West Hollywood as part of the WeHo business community.

West Hollywood Council member Chelsea Byers attended her first ribbon cutting. She presented the Lavo team with a Certificate of Recognition from the city, acknowledging their opening in West Hollywood.

WeHo Chamber CEO, Genevieve Morrill and Board Chair David Wood welcomed Chef Luca Maita, Chef Michael Armstrong, General Manager Vincent Samarco and their team to the City of West Hollywood. Executive chamber member Luis Saldana presented Lavo with a traditional Buck for Good Luck framed dollar bill to wish them success–a tradition that dates back to when the Chamber first opened its doors 102 years ago. “Ribbon cuttings are my favorite thing that we do at the Chamber, because this is your hopes and dreams,” said Board Chair David Wood. “It’s our way of wishing you well.”

Since famed Tao Group Hospitality opened LAVO Ristorante last year, it has been a hot spot for a long list of celebrity guests like the Kardashians, Hilary Duff, Mario Lopez, and Shay Mitchell to name a few. Located across the street from SoHo House and walking distance from the Beverly Hills gateway, the Italian restaurant offers a year-round alfresco dining experience. The menu balances dishes inspired by coastal southern Italy and influenced by Southern California produce while paying homage to LAVO’s signature classics. The result of Chef Scamardella’s ethos and vision is a menu of fresh pastas made in-house, pizza made with whole grain, single-source flour, and an extensive offering of wood-fired steaks, chops, chicken al mattone, fresh salads and locally-sourced vegetables. The beverage program features dramatic iterations on the classics alongside bold signature drinks.
