LASD WeHo Retrieves Rickshaw Stolen from Formosa Café in West Hollywood

The Formosa Café had its rickshaw stolen in West Hollywood. The two-wheeled cart was found at Astro Burger down the street and was retrieved within hours.

“Friends, we need your help!!” posted The Formosa Café on its official Instagram account. “Our rickshaw was stolen this morning. If you spot it anywhere or have any information, please contact us via DM or email [email protected].”

The post was updated about 6 hours later with the good news that the missing rickshaw had been returned. “Update: Our rickshaw has been FOUND!! Thank you to our friends @alex_bedrin & @andreametz for helping us find it, and thank you to the WeHo Sheriff’s Department for retrieving it for us ♥️.”

Bryan Brumbaugh, the manager at Formosa Cafe, tells WEHO TIMES that the rickshaw went missing at roughly 12:45 on Monday. “I heard that somebody saw our posts on social media and saw it being wheeled around West Hollywood. The West Hollywood sheriffs eventually found it behind the Astro Burger down the street. They came around to let us know that they found it.”

Brumbaugh says the general manager walked over to Astro Burger and wheeled it back. He said he believes a person was found with the rickshaw and arrested, but that has not yet been confirmed.

The rickshaw is back in its patio area with a sign indicating the area is restricted and for employees only. It now has a padlock keeping it in place to avoid having it stolen again.
