The Beaches WeHo team has formally announced that a whole new concept called Beaches Tropicana is coming to the former Heart WeHo Space located at 8911 Santa Monica Boulevard in the heart of West Hollywood’s Rainbow District. Renovations will kick off right after Pride Month celebrations, with the highly anticipated grand reopening slated for Labor Day 2024.

“HEY BEACHES FAM!” Reads a post on Beaches WeHo’s social media platforms. “We have some exciting news to share with you all. We’ve officially purchased the venue that is currently Heart WeHo and Heart’s original partners Lance Bass and Paul Nicholls will be joining the Beaches team. Together we are all excited to transform the space into something truly special. INTRODUCING **BEACHES TROPICANA!”

According to the post, Beaches Tropicana will be their flagship headquarters, combining a full-service Cuban-American restaurant with an entertainment venue where guests can dine, Dance and enjoy top-notch performances, all in one space. “Renovations will start right after Pride Month, and we can’t wait to reveal the new concept to you by fall 2024.”

Beaches WeHo also reports that the existing location at 8928 Santa Monica Blvd is also getting a makeover transformation and will be turned into Beaches Baja with a fresh new vibe and a new Tex-Mex Menu. This refreshed location will continue to deliver the inclusive, high-energy atmosphere that Beaches is known for, now with a culinary twist. According to a press release, the team is in talks with several high-profile chefs and hopes to make an exciting announcement once these plans are finalized.

The Beaches team stated, “Our goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive space that celebrates diversity and provides unforgettable experiences. From delicious food to captivating performances, Beaches Tropicana will be a place where everyone feels at home.”

As Beaches Tropicana, the venue promises to be a landmark destination, embodying the vibrant culture and creative energy of West Hollywood.

“We’re thrilled about these changes and can’t wait to to create a space that celebrates diversity and provides unforgettable experiences for everyone. Stay tuned for more updates and thank you for being part of our journey.”

A statement posted on WEHO TIMES’ Instagram account @weho_times reveals that NSYNC singer and entrepreneur Lance Bass is no longer a partner at Heart WeHo.

They should bring back the art deco features from the saw era.

Yes. Get rid of the black tiles. All they did was put lipstick on the old Rage. Let’s hope they give us something fresh and new.

Do you remember when bars did not have one restaurant anywhere and the menu was some cruising without a cell phone in the actual bar. NO? so sorry

I do remember. I miss the Faultline, Detour and Cuffs. And I live in NYC. Going to those 3 bars made my vacation trips to L.A. enjoyable. Sad.

Inclusive and diversity. There’s two words you don’t ever hear anyone use when they describe their new business!

If by this club you meant Heart WeHo then that’s correct. Why is Lance accountable for what a bouncer does at a club he is no longer affiliated with? Beaches Tropicana may be in the same space but it is a different entity. The bouncer was hired from an outside vendor. Insurance will settle this.

Sadly “welcoming, inclusive space” includes violent people who do not live anywhere near West Hollywood. Somewhere we forgot that “gay” does not mean “inclusive”–actually its kind of the opposite. We’ll see how this goes!

Great news. The team behind Beaches is first-class, and I’m glad to see Lance Bass back in the ownership group for this spot. Also, it sounds like it will be a restaurant and bar, so there will be no big empty black space on the block all day long! With Gym Bar renovating under new ownership and when Roosterfish opens, this main block will be the best it has been in 20 years! Heart was just awful. They tiled the front and painted, and that was about it. The bouncer assault surely pushed this sale through quickly.

Everyone from Heart is moving on and very vocal about not being part of Heart anymore.
Everyone seems to be washing their hands of Albert Vasquez, his beating, hospitalization and the out of control bouncer employed by Heart. No new or transferring of business license or liquor license should be able to occur until legal responsibility is determined and a court of law has rendered a judgement. This whole Heart situation is negligent and letting proprietors just to sell and wash their hands just manifests more of the same.
And what are the silver gazebos in the rendering? Huh?

Again, why do you say the Vasquez assault is not being prosecuted and litigated. Do you know stuff that is not public? The bouncer has been arrested and charged, the family has representation and the people behind Heart and any monies made by the sale are subject to forthcoming civil litigation. If you know different, please inform us.

They spent all that $$$ on an expensive audiovisual system but did nothing to make the bar a “one of a kind” venue. Nothing special about it.

LOL. How long will this last. Exterior rendering looks like a 2 year old did It and from the looks of it are they taking over the former bank on the corner too?

Great! Instead of being beaten into a coma you can just drink yourself into one.
