LA Leather Pride 2022: Dark Angel Kicked Off this Week

LA Leather Pride 2022: Dark Angel, kicked off earlier this week on Sunday, March 20 and will run a series of events leading up to the Mr. Los Angeles Leather Contest and Legion Dance beginning Saturday, March 26, 2022.

The Los Angeles Leather Coalition announced the long awaited Los Angeles Leather Pride 2022: Dark Angel after being on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic these past two years.

“We have an exciting week of events planned, including warm-up parties, socials, etc,” reads a statement on their website. “It’s all leading up to Dark Angel: The Mr. Los Angeles Leather Contest and Legion Dance. We are looking forward to finally being able to gather together with all of you to celebrate our love for leather, kink, and each other.”

As COVID-19 is still a concern for the community, organizers will still follow the local, state and federal public safety guidelines for all of the events during the week to make sure they are safe and fun for everyone.

    About Mr. LA Leather 2022:

Ten amazing gentlemen have eagerly and patiently waited to compete for the title of Mr. Los Angeles Leather 2022. During the pandemic, they kept the community’s spirit up in their own ways (i.e. hosting online events or helping those in need). They have been true examples of what it means to be of service, especially in a time when it seemed that all hope was lost. Being Mr. Los Angeles Leather is about more than just who looks best in their leather gear. It’s also about who inspires the community, uplifts it, and who touches the hearts of those who feel like they don’t belong. Each contestant has proven himself worthy of becoming the next Mr. Los Angeles Leather 2022.

The event is produced by Gabriel Green, the current Chair for LALP. He first arrived on the LA Leather scene when he ran for and won the title of Mr. LA Leather Bear 2014. Since then he has been an active member in the leather community by producing contests and hosting nightlife events. During the pandemic, he became the Chair for LALC CAReS (Community Assistance Resources Service), which was formed by the LALC to help and assist our community, through various means and resources, during times of crisis.
