La Fuente Hollywood Treatment Center is hosting the third annual Gift Drive Kick Off to give back and celebrate this holiday season. Donations will once again benefit the current residents of the Van Ness Recovery House (VNRH) as it has the previous two years.
The Gift Drive Kick Off will take place on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at 6pm, at La Fuente Hollywood Treatment Center, located at 5718 Fountain Avenue in Los Angeles. The outdoor event is serving food and drinks and a chance to fellowship. Everyone is invited to donate unwrapped gender neutral socks, underwear (S-XXL) and toiletries. Pajamas, makeup and other gift items are also accepted.
Manny Rodriguez, the founder and CEO of La Fuente has always been a supporter of the Van Ness Recovery House through La Fuente. He is keen on the idea of being community driven and giving back to the local community and keeping the community engaged. La Fuente hosted their second annual ETA Summit (Eat Think Act) this past October and 100% of the proceeds in the registration fees are going towards The Van Ness Recovery House. A check for $3,500.00 was presented to The House after the summit.
“I believe in the work that they do,” Rodriquez said of VNRH. “I believe that they meet a very specific need and they serve the same population that we serve and I feel like we’re in this together. I believe that we’re community driven and what that means is that we’re a part of the community and we participate in our community, and we help our community whenever we can and however we can.”
The Van Ness Recovery House has been serving the recovering LGBTQ+ community since 1973.
