“And just like that… We’re (finally) opening the doors to our newest U.S. club, John Reed West Hollywood, next month,” reads an Instagram reel posted on the John Reed Fitness official Instagram account @johnreedfitness_us. “We promise we’re worth the wait.”
The reel, which dropped today, says the West Hollywood location is opening in October, but no direct date has been announced as if the posting of this piece. According to their social media, “Presale is now live, link in our bio. Prices increase when we open!

The video gives us a small snippets of the installation of their signage which went up on August 29, announcing the arrival of the new gym. We also get tiny glimpses of the interior upstairs with a view of what used to be the upstairs main workout floor as well as some of the mural artwork that is going up on the walls.

The West Hollywood location had their brand new top of the line workout equipment delivered last night. Large trailers parked at the Santa Monica Boulevard and Westbourne intersection as well as a large crane which hoisted heavy workout machinery to the second floor. It all points to West Hollywood getting a new gym next month.

Workers took precautions when moving the heavy workout machinery into the building and they were careful around curious community members who were on the sidewalk checking out the new equipment.
The John Reed Fitness Santa Monica location celebrated its grand opening at 1202 3rd Street Promenade, on the weekend of Friday, June 23rd. Potential members enjoyed free club access to experience the space, along with special programming that included live DJs, classes, and activities throughout the weekend, such as Cupping Therapy by Myodetox and a piercing station. Hopefully that will be the case at the West Hollywood location.
The WeHo 24-Hour Fitness gym officially closed on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at exactly 9:00 p.m.
Gentrification is genocide.
Looks like the same equipment I use at my gym for $300 a year. This will be a great gym for the party and drug crowd. I hope they love it. The best thing about it is it will help the other businesses in the area that have been affected since 24 Hour Fitness closed. It has been very tough on those businesses and I know they will appreciate the extra traffic.
Some of us prefer clean gyms with working equipment. I have no doubt your gym is lacking in those departments. I’ve tried all the gyms in a 5 mile radius and those cheap gyms are disgusting. Fits your personality though!
Wow, you must be quite the princess if the gym has to be spotless for you. Gyms are for working out and sweating. Just admit you prefer the party social scene and being around TikTok influencers filming while you are working out. It’s OK to admit that. Read the reviews about JRF and you’ll see plenty of comments about the gym not being cleaned. It’s called labor and if the gym has too many people working there especially at a minimum of $19.08 per hour plus other benefits something has to give. Get used to seeing someone else’s hair in… Read more »
The “party social scene”? Damn, you are embarrassing
Are you seriously trying to make fun of me for wanting a clean gym? I’m pretty sure most people do. I take fitness seriously and don’t want to be in a filthy gym if i’m there 6 days a week.
Unlike you, I have actually been to both John Reed Fitness gyms in LA and 1 in the Netherlands. They are very clean and the club is well maintained 🙂
It sounds like you actually thrive around filth and grime…love that for you, Natasha.
No, I am not making fun of you for wanting a clean and well maintained club we all want that but your expectations are unrealistic. How do you know that I have never been to JRF? No gym anywhere is spotless. You are just being dramatic. Even Heimat isn’t spotless and the membership rates are significantly higher than JRF who owns both brands. No gym in LA will ever be spotless. The majority of people working out are selfish people who don’t even wipe off the equipment after they use it. A gym would need dozens of people just walking… Read more »
Why do you keep bringing up “spotless”?
Did I ever say the gym would be “spotless”?
How are my expectations unrealistic if i’ve gone to the other locations and been happy with the gym? Can you read?
I’m so confused. You go on these tangents like you have voices in your head or something.
The point is: John Reed, Heimat, Equinox etc are all gyms that are well maintained unlike the dump you go to.
I’m glad you’re proud of your dumpy gym! Good for you!
I go to a great gym, it’s not a “dumpy gym”. It is extremely well maintained and clean. You are most likely one of those people who goes to the gym and talks the entire time instead of working out. You know, one of those annoying people who ties up all the equipment because they have nothing else to do all day.
Please enlighten us on this amazing gym that is “extremely” clean and only $25/month near Weho.
There is no such thing lol. You’re so full of it.
NO! Your not the only one I’m right with you!!!
Great! You & Weho Artist can report back to us in about 90 days if the gym is being kept clean. Can’t wait for the update!
Why do you care so much? You’re so pathetic.
Because I value your opinion. If it’s spotless maybe I’ll join 🙂
Why would you if your gym is only $25/month and “extremely clean”? That wouldn’t make any sense.
Please tell us which gym is this cheap and so clean in the weho area. It would be swamped with people if this were true. Everyone knows how LA Fitness and 24 Hr fitness are the cheapest gyms and they *are not* clean. They are filthy.
You are soooo right!!! Myself and several other members caught lice off the towels at Crunch! That place is filthy like 25 hour and LA Fitness. I’m at Equinox now and worth every penny!! CLEAN, great equipment and nice respectful members! I think I’ll be giving John Williams a shot also!!! I can handle a little sloppy! But I won’t tolerate filth!!!!! NO WAY!!!!
Crunch is just nasty. I don’t think they have cleaned the place thoroughly in years. I love Equinox except for the owner Stephen Ross who is a major Trump supporter who helped Trump raise millions so he could destroy the country and appoint gay hating Supreme Court judges and other gay hating judges around the country.
You like your gym, others will like this gym, why throw shade?
Great news! This opening along with the other businesses opening at the old sprouts building will really “juice” this block.
Not so fast…Summer of 2024…June, July, Aug, Sept…who knows?
Summer 2024 is for their pool/hot tub
The gym is opening next month.
The pool and hot tub won’t be opening till 2024? Well that’s no good I want to sit in the hot tub with a bunch of hot guys and wack them off underneath the water!!!
If the Hottt The in Empire Hills and ready to memberships should be half price until they’re fixed! Memberships should be $40 a month and then $20 a month to the pool and hot tub are fixed!
Just know your IP address is logged when you make comments on this site. Making plans to expose yourself and basically sexually assault people at a gym is not cute.
With Crunch closing we’ll have two upscale gyms in town. Great news!!!! We can keep the riff raff and homeless at LA Fitness and 24 hour!
Crunch isn’t closing
Who told you Crunch is closing? Sounds like fake news to me.
I heard that from several people! That whole block is being razed!!!
No, it’s not. You got bad information.
Are you talking about the corner across the street where the Chase bank used to be? That was supposed to be a Frank Gehry building and something went south.
Crunch is not in weho, but also they are not closing.
A big gym anchor tenant that will help all nearby businesses. Very exciting!
