Joanna Vargas Skin Care spa has moved to a new location in West Hollywood at 1107 N. Kings Road, next to Hugo’s Restaurant. They moved from inside the Sunset Tower Hotel, to a much larger space at what was originally the Old Globe Theatre (also the former home to the Macha Theatre Company and most recently, The 11:11 Theater).
Joanna Vargas is described as today’s “it-esthetician for today’s it-celebrities, and anyone who wants gorgeous, glowing skin that endures.” She is known for her powerhouse refining and reshaping facials offered at her signature NYC + LA salons with products that reflect her unique combination of technique, technology and all-natural ingredients formulated to beautify.

The West Hollywood salon offers facials, body treatments, LED face/body treatments, massage, and oxygen treatments. Some of their most popular treatments include Triple Crown Facial which is Joanna’s signature treatment that started it all. The popular facial uses three powerful technologies to trigger collagen and elastin production for immediately visible results and cumulative benefits over time. The WeHo location is currently offering an introductory price of $75 off facials to new customers.
“The space has been a theatre since the early 70s, so they get major points from me for saving the old theater space and creating something beautiful and new out of something from the past,” said first time customer and editor of this publication, Paulo Murillo. “The facade of the old theater now kind of looks like a modern airplane hangar. It’s a huge luxurious space inside.”

Murillo received the triple crown facial with a half hour cleanse, LED red light therapy and The Body Booster, a full leg compression, during his visit. “I was walking a red carpet later that night for the Studio One Forever premier at Outfest, and I needed a last-minute miracle to give me a boost so I could put my best face forward at the event,” he said. “My aesthetician Shane took care of me, making sure I didn’t come out of there looking red or puffy after a facial. He left my skin glowing, even toned and feeling tighter. I also fell asleep on his table, which never happens. I’m too damn uptight.”

The spa’s products are naturally potent and breathe life and vitality to aging or imbalanced skin. Joanna’s innovative approach to skincare is to first prevent and secondly to be effective. She believes that preventive skincare is key to lifelong happiness with your skin, and skincare at any age should be effective enough to give noticeable results. Treatment rooms were designed to create a celebrity experience for all clients.
The spa wants the West Hollywood community to know it has arrived at 1107 N. Kings Road with an introductory $75.00 off any facial for new clients.

The OLD GLOBE THEATRE, as it was in its original entirety, was a holy relic, a historic monument to the ageless art of theatre & certainly the only cultural “exposure” to Shakespeare in West Hollywood. Its exterior made an extraordinary visual statement of theatre history & culture & should have been preserved for posterity. I had some wonderful conversations with “Thad” through the years, I even helped him plant flowers there at times. I never was sure if Thad was the owner or just worked there but he was 100% devoted to Shakespearean theatre. If any structure in the city… Read more »
