In celebration of the release of Hulu’s new original series, Welcome to Chippendales, the streaming platform is presenting a special experience at Rocco’s, 8900 Santa Monica Boulevard, in West Hollywood this coming weekend from Friday, November 18, to Sunday November 20, 2022., 6:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. This is a 21 and older experience.
Highlights will include exclusive sneak peeks of the series, going back to the 70s, following the evolution of Steve Banerjee who goes from gas station clerk to mogul to criminal.
The Hulu’s Welcome to Chippendales Experience will transport guests back to vintage Los Angeles, West Hollywood in 1979, to precises, which is where it all begins. From epic entertainment to deceitful drama, and all the dark details in between, the event promises and experience and encourages accurate clothing of the era (not required). Each hour-long experience includes 2 free drinks, light bar bites, and merchandise. Era accurate clothing encouraged but not required!
A sprawling true-crime saga, “Welcome to Chippendales” tells the outrageous story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee, an Indian immigrant who became the unlikely founder of the world’s greatest male-stripping empire–and let nothing stand in his way in the process. It stars Kumail Nanjiani as Somen ‘Steve’ Banerjee, the founder of Chippendales.
Chippendales is a touring dance troupe best known for its male striptease performances and for its dancers’ distinctive upper body costume of a bow tie, collar, and shirt cuffs worn on an otherwise bare torso.
Chippendales was the first all-male stripping troupe to make a business performing for mostly female audiences. Through the quality of its staging and choreography, Chippendales also helped legitimize stripping as a form of popular entertainment.
The company produces Broadway-style burlesque shows worldwide and licenses its intellectual property for select consumer products ranging from apparel and accessories to slot machines and video games.
The experience at Rocco’s is strictly 21+. A standby line will be available if you are unable to reserve tickets, but space will be limited and subject to availability on a first come, first served basis. Entry is not guaranteed. I hope they got a permit to turn their building into a billboard. Gross.
Wow, when they first proposed Rocco’s, it was going to be a neighborhood restaurant with a bar and now look at it.
OOOPs, I meant north of Venice Blvd. NOT Sepulveda.
Chippendales was in west L.A. on Overland, north of Sepulveda. It catered to women. Straight women. It was Miles away from West Hollywood. Why is this being done in West Hollywood?????? West Hollywood, in 1979 was Gayer than what it is today.
for the money.
