Revolver Video Bar, located at 8851 Santa Monica Boulevard, in the heart of West Hollywood’s Boystown/LGBT Rainbow District is now hiring. This is the first sign that the popular watering hole will open soon, hopefully early this month.
Chris Miller, the owner of Revolver, posted a story on his social media stating, “WE’RE HIRING”. There is an open call for bartenders, barbacks, cocktail servers and security guards. The post asks that resumes be emailed to [email protected].
Danny Santiago, who we are told is the general manager at Revolver Video Bar, also posted the open call for bar staff on his social media.
Proudly gay owned and operated, Revolver Video Bar has been a staple in West Hollywood Boys Town for over 30 years. Known for having the “friendliest staff on the Boulevard” Revolver was busy pre-COVID when it was open 7 days a week, offering Happy Hour, karaoke and drag shows during the week, and DJ’s, Gogo dancers and laser light shows during the weekends.
The bar joined The Abbey Food & Bar when it closed its hours of operation in an effort to keep the community safe during the coronavirus pandemic right before it was mandated by the Los Angeles County Health Department in mid March 2020.
“With a very heavy heart our revolving door is going to stop spinning for now,” Chris Miller, the owner of Revolver Video Bar posted, on his facebook timeline on March 14. “It makes me incredibly sad to not be a safe place to gather while the world is dealing with this uncertain situation, but we will be back soon. Much love to all our customers and to the incredible family that I get to work with every day.”
The bar has been closed since, and up until this recent post, has been pretty quiet online about any signs of re-opening.
An OUTZone on Larrabee is currently in the works, another sign that Revolver Video Bar is coming back to life soon.
