Here’s What’s on the Menu for this Year’s Emmy Awards Governor’s Ball

This Sunday, Michael Douglas, Alan Arkin, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Peter Dinklage, Jason Bateman and hundreds of other celebrities and members of the media will be tasting dishes from Patina Group chefs Joachim Splichal, Alec Lestr, Gregg Wiele, and Frania Mendivil at the 71st Annual Emmy Awards Governor’s Ball in Downtown Los Angeles.

Here’s an inside look at what Hollywood’s elite will enjoy at the post-awards celebration.

More than 500 pounds of Wagyu beef, 250 pounds of heirloom tomatoes and 85 pounds of Maine lobster will be turned into meals for the nominees. All décor and food elements for the Governors Ball are recyclable, repurposed, or biodegradable.

The theme of this year’s ball is “Brilliance in Motion.” Guests will experience a multi-layered design inspired by the beauty of dancing waters and sparkling fountains with a color palette of eggplant, magenta, red and coral with accents of Emmy gold. For the first time in Emmy history, Living Spaces will provide upholstered sofas and other furnishings.

The menu for the evening will include hors d’oeuvres and small plates including Maine lobster and burrata, yellowtail sashimi, paella Valenciana, red-wine braised short ribs and crab cake sliders. Also featured will be vegan and vegetarian appetizers including tomato tartare, poke, eggplant fries and a street corn ravioli.

Stations will be location throughout the ballroom offering Nick + Stef’s tenderloin of beef served with white cheddar potato gratin and a little gem chopped wedge salad. Additionally, chicken and Beyond Meat vegetarian sliders will be offered.

Dessert will include miniature confections and pastries including milkshakes, brownies, blondies, butterscotch budino and a vegan raspberry chia seed tapioca.

Napa Valley Winery Sterling Vineyards returns as the Official wine of the 71st Emmy Awards Season. Ferrari Trento will offer sparkling wines, Fiji water will provide water and Ketel One Family Made Vodka will provide signature vodka cocktails and Don Francisco’s will provide Arabica coffee throughout the evening.

The 71st Emmy Awards will air live on Sunday, September 22 from 5 to 8pm PT on FOX.
